The Peony Falls on the Moss [Closed for Karou]

Mosskit stood up from his nest in the nursery. He wanted dearly to play with someone. He looked around the den, expecting to play with his littermates, but then something absolutely beautiful caught his eye. It was a kitten. A she-cat. How have I never seen her before? he asked himself in wonder. He crept over to her nest, nudging her awake. "Um... Hi. I'm Mosskit. Wake up... Do you wanna play?" His heart was beating fast. He had never really known what love at first sight was, but now he did.

The white ball of fluffy fur that had a tail that had ginger tabby and Smokey black tabby stripes in the tail stirred a bit at being woken. Slowly she opened her bright emerald forestry green eyes and looked at him. Sleep blinking from her eyes almost instantly she sat up slowly heart beating fast in her white chest. A small smile came to her maw"hi....I'm Peonykit..s..sure I'd love to play" She new rd and shook her fur out a bit smiling."what do you want to play?"she asked

Mosskit's heart skipped a beat as she spoke to him, and her question was just a murmur to him. All he could focus on was her face. "So, uh... What do you want to play?" he asked, very stupidly.

Peonykit blinked and smiled a bit as she sat up. She thought for a moment looking at him as she Thought of a game to play"hmm I'm not sure....is..there anything you want to play"she said smiling a bit. She kinda like Mosskit already and she couldn't explain it. She waited for an idea on what they could play. She paused for a moment then said"maybe we could play fight?"she asked.

Mosskit's heart leaped. "Sure!" he wanted to do whatever she wanted to do. He squatted down and then leaped, trying to imitate the apprentices. He fell on top of Peonykit. Her scent engulfed him, and he had the sudden strong urge to lick her - but, of course, he didn't because he would be very embarrassed. He battered her shoulders with sheathed paws, purring in laughter. Then he leaped off of her, and raced out of the nursery, daring her to come after him.

She have a small laugh as he pounced and batted her shoulder. She felt her heart best faster. She smiled a bit and reached up to bat him back playfully. Though he was just out of reach as he darted out of the nursery daring her without words to give Chase. She have the biggest smile her tail flicking and she chased after him running as best she could her colorful tail streaming behind her. Her green eyes were alight with excitement and something else. She reached him and jumped aiming to pin him smiling happily a half purr half laugh escaped her eyes shining.

Mosskit looked into her shining eyes, and purred. He wiggled from under her feet and raced behind her before she could react. He gentled tugged her tail like warriors do to their opponents in a fight (except they do it much harder). Then he bumped her flank with his muzzle, causing her to fall over. "Ha! Got you!" he purred.

Peonykit blinked and cell on her side. She shook her head and stood up slowly"yeah you did goes you do that?"she asked curious.

Mosskit shrugged, proud that she noticed his talent. "I watched the older apprentices," he purred. "I can teach you if you want."

She blinked and smiled some a purr rumbling in her throat as she nodded."could you please show me how it looked so cool"Peonykit mewed smiling some at him.

Mosskit smiled and nodded. "Sure. I'll do it one more time...." He did so, and helped her up again. "So, the first part is simple but difficult - just run as fast as you can behind your opponent. Then IMMEDIATELY grab your opponent's tail and tug. That'll unsteady them. Then push their side so that they fall. Then you can do whatever you want! Oh, and by the way, when you race behind the cat for the tail tug, keep in mind that if you don't do it quick enough they might use a back leg kick against you, and that could knock you out."

Peonykit blinked and let him help her up. She listened intently smiling a little before she nodded slowly."wow did you learn this all from just watching the apprentices?"She asked looking at him.

Mosskit shrugged and nodded. "Yeah, I guess so. You try it on me."

"Ok"She said and looked to him before she smiled and darted behind him grabbing his tail and tugged before she smile a bit and bump him sideways smiling a bit"like that?"she asked helping him up.

Mosskit purred. "Yes, like that." His feelings were now unmistakable - he had a crush on Peonykit. And, strangely, he so dearly wanted to tell her that. But he didn't know how he could, or how she would react. He took a deep breath, and asked, "Do you want to go to the river?" Maybe the beauty of the water could give him energy and courage powerful enough to convince him to tell her...
