The death of the loved mother [Open after death]

Thinstripe felt the current rush with her paws, she sighed, enjoying most of what was left to love. She truly did enjoy life, but there were many, many things that scared her. She felt the current get stronger, almost pulled her in. She got more interested and well, decided to leap across into the river, she didn't notice the currents motions. She sat on a rock in the middle, grooming herself quietly. She stared at the water, its clearness made the river look beautiful. She wasn't the best at swimming and the waves of the river and current had slowed down, she headed in. Practice made perfect! Or well what the she-cat thought. She went under after a few seconds of getting used to the cold, wet water. The current stared going faster and her fur tugged, she felt it and quickly tried to escape. Though failing the water pulled her under, her head hit a rock making her knock out. She floated in the waves of the pushing water, she for sure was still alive but wouldn't make it if she was knocked out.

Her body soon floated back towards ThunderClan territory. She wasn't breathing and was truly dead. Her silver tabby body waited there, her bright blue eyes would never beam with happiness again...

Cloverpool looked for Thinstripe, she had been gone a while now and she was starting to worry about her granddaughter. "Thinstripe!! Oh no Thinstripe!!" She wailed running over. The tortoiseshell queen nuzzled her soaking wet dead granddaughter. "Oh Thinstripe you had such a good life, a mate and kits all a grandmother could ever want or her granddaughter to be happy." The queen meowed bowing her head and grooming most of the water out of her fur soaking pelt and trying to make her look peaceful.

Lakesong followed and heard Cloverpool's wails. "Thinstripe no!!! Not my mate!! " He yowled in anger, sadness, and bitterness. Why did Starclan have to torture them so?

Scorchfrost's ears pricked. Lakesong was screeching... and it was Thinstripe's name on his tongue. The tom's stomach dropped as he skidded over, staring at the lump of silver fur on the ground. "Get out of my way!" he hissed, "Let me see her!" She's not dead, she needs help, where's a medicine cat when you need one...? 

He butted Cloverpool and Lakesong out of the way rudely, still convinced that life had not left yet. He looked into her motionless eyes, amber meeting pale blue. He leaned down, a paw on her flank. As he pressed down, water spewed from her mouth. It was unsightly, undignified. He nudged her cheek. "Thinstripe... Mom, pease, it's not funny! Okay! You got me, now get up! Stop fooling around!" He frantically shook her flank. Not a single heartbeat was to be found. His paws shook. "MOTHER!" he screamed. "MOM! THINSTRIPE!"

Scorchfrost wasn't in the moment anymore. He was in ThunderClan's nursery, he was staring up into kind blue eyes. Hello, Scorchkit, the figure whispered. Warmth was filling his soul and clouding his head. He was playing with a mossball as a silver tabby told him why he doesn't have a proper family. He swore that he'd fix it, that they'd be together again. Her eyes gleamed with hope, as they always did. Hope for the future. Hope for her family. He was in a clearing now, a small apprentice, as Darkpaw yowled and tears formed in Thinstripe's eyes as her drive left her. Her kits would never accept her, and they all knew it. He was back in the barn now, fumbling a green pendant, his mother comforting his sobs. Everything, he knew, would be alright. He was standing by the fence now, fear, love, joy, anxiousness collecting within him. Pepper and Thinstripe got along so well, Thinstripe was so excited to one day become a grandparent...

He was back in reality, tears streaming down his face. His voice was ripped apart with the agony. Thinstripe was dead. She never lived to see Scorchfrost become a father, she never lived to see how his kits eyes would gleam. And that con that she called her mate, Shatteredsoul... Scorchfrost never got to tell her how he did away with that scoundrel. She had so much left to do, and now she was just a waterlogged pelt on the ground. "NO! YOU CAN'T BE DEAD! THIS ISN'T FAIR!" He was just a small kit again, a shaggy mess of fur curling under Thinstripe's chin. He wanted to believe it was all a dream. But he knew he was already awake.

Sunpelt heard the cries, and raced over. He saw Cloverpool, Scorchfrost, Lakesong, and Thinstripe... Something was wrong. He smelled death. He padded slowly toward Cloverpool, and his breath caught in his throat when he saw Thinstripe. He sobbed once, and then licked Cloverpool's cheek. He dearly wanted to help Scorchfrost, but he knew Scorchfrost wouldn't be grateful, but annoyed. So he let him be, watching him wail, his heart breaking in two for the poor tom.

Gentlenose was drawn in by the cries, a terrible feeling settling in the pit of her stomach. Something was wrong, oh so wrong. The feeling only grew as she padded closer, noticing a gray tabby pelt laying in the center of the throng of cats. "T-Thinstripe?" Gentlenose stuttered her old friend's name, pushing her way through the other cats to stand by Scorchfrost's side. "Dear Starclan... Please don't let it be true..." she whispered, touching her nose gently to Thinstripe's soaked pelt. She drew back sharply in disbelief, sensing only cold dampness. The she-cat's life had already ebbed from her body. "Scorchfrost..." Gentlenose made an attempt to comfort the younger tom, but her own tears and a mournful yowl ended her short speech.

Wishpaw had been hunting nearby, but when she padded out of a couple of bushes, curiosity took the best of her when she saw a lot of cats crowding around something. She padded up closer, shrew still in her jaws. When she saw Thinstripe's dead, wet body, she dropped her shrew out of pure shock. Thinstripe had been her mentor for not long, but Wishpaw still had enjoyed her few lessons. She knew that the warriors around her had probably known her a lot better. She stepped back respectfully, letting the older cats pay their respects closer to Thinstripe. She sat on the outskirts, bowing her head silently.

Sedgepaw padded through, he looked at Thinstripe's body, she was his mothers best friend, he looked over to Scorchfrost then back to the body, he sniffed it. Obviously nothing killed her, he was going to guess "She probably was out near the river and the currents might have pulled her, I don't think she was killed by any cat, there would be some scent near, maybe" He suggested.

Tulipheart stared at her dead mentor and friend "oh no..."
