What Happened? (Open)

Two rogues padded into Riverclan's camp, dragging along the dead body of an apprentice-sized cat. It was Jaypaw, who recently went missing and was assumed dead. The assumption was right. Her body, along with her stump-tail, was laid in the center of camp, and the rogues bolted off.

OOC- Just wanted to explain Jaypaw's disappearance and address what happened. We can go with the idea that she drowned. (She is Ivyfall's first litter kit, by the way)

Lionkit watched the rogues bring in a cat and dart off. They were gone before she could say anything. With narrowed eyes, she stalked over and looked down at the cat, her golden mane shining in the sun.

Frostpaw crept out of the apprentice's den at the smell of rogues thing they were being invaded but all she saw was a cat laying in the middle of camp, and a small kit wondering around it. Who was it? The white tabby moved closer, trying to get a better look, but she then froze in her spot when she saw who it was. Saddness grew in her eyes as she moved closer once again. "Jaypaw?" Frostpaw asked softly poking her sister with her paw. Why wasn't she waking up? Was she dead? Saddness tightened around the apprentice's chest, giving the white apprentice grief. "Jaypaw wake up!" Frostpaw shouted as she nudge her sister once again. "Why won't you move?" She asked with grief strong in her voice.

Ivyfall woke to a commotion in the clearing, the she-cat groaned as she got out of her nest in the nursery to see what was going on. Ears pricked, she heard the familiar voice of her daughter, Frostpaw, but she seemed to be wailing in grief. Ice speared her heart, what had happened? Who'd died? The silver tabby raced out onto where her daughter laid beside a dead apprentice, no, it was Jaypaw. Her body was waterlogged, wet and smelt of death and decay. The queen felt sick to the core at the sight, but couldn't look away. Her daughter, her precious kit was dead. "No, StarClan have mercy, no. Jaypaw... Swiftclaw, no. Our daughter, why! She was too young to join you." She wailed to the sky as if pleading her mate to send her back Jaypaw, to give her back her kit. Like Frostpaw, she nudged the apprentice, hoping, pleading there was any movement. But it was all in vain. She was long gone. "Jaypaw. Jaypaw. Jaypaw. My kit, you deserved to grow up to be a warrior like me. To have your own kits and be loved. My precious kit... Why?"

Halfmoon peeked out of the nursery, belly swollen, to see the body of the small apprentice she had once helped rescue lying dead in camp. "Oh, no! Jaypaw!" First Heronwing, now Jaypaw... StarClan, why? Is RiverClan displeasing you?

Poolpaw, returning from a patrol with a fat carp in her mouth, promptly dropped it on the grass in surprise. Her denmate...! "Jaypaw, no!" she yowled in grief. She was so close to being a warrior! She ran to the small body of her friend laying on the ground, tears dripping freely, fishing success forgotten.
