A Kit's Bravery

Ripplekit stirred in her warm nest, dawn light filtering weakly through the nursery entrance. The grey tabby looked outside, suddenly longing to leave the nursery, for the first time ever. She picked herself up, trying her best not to step on and awaken her slumbering siblings. On her way out, she tripped, and tumbled out out the nursery, landing on her rump in the snow out side. Ripple kit looked around, her eyes wide with wonder as she gazed at the world around her.

Clearkit stirred from her sleep, stretching lazily as the small kit sat up, her bleary eyes looking around before she spotted her sister. She watched her curiously, blue eyes round as her sister fumbled around in the snow. The small she-kit carefully made her way to the edge of the den, prodding at the white fluffy snow in front of her.

A mischievous grin took hold of Ripplekit as she noticed her sister exit the den after her. Slyly, Ripplekit balled up a bit of snow, and chucked it at Clearkit. She pelted away across the camp before Clearkit could react, laughing.

Moonkit was woken up by all the commotion and saw that his sisters had woken up and were outside playing some sort of game. He stretched then finally stood up, still trying to shake off the sleep. He was trying to decide whether to go out and play or to stay where he was.

Clearkit squeaked at the cold and charged after Ripplekit. "Hey!" She pounced, hoping to land on Ripplekit, her paws outstretched as she reached for the other she-cat.

A small oof was forced out of Ripplekit as Clearkit landed on her. "Get off, you fat furball!" Ripplekit giggled, rolling over to try and throw her sister off. The snow got in the kit's pelt, but she didn't care. This was fun!

Clearkit clung to Ripplekit like a tick, giggling as they churned up the snow around them, even though Clearkit was nimble, this was no problem for her.

Ripplekit shook as hard as she could, hoping Clearkit would get dislodged. After a while of playing, Ripplekit noticed a thorn bush nearby. "I'm gonna do it!" she yowled, bounding towards it and dragging her sister with. When they were only a tail-legnth away, Ripplekit bucked, trying to scare Clearkit off. What kit would want thorns in their fur?

Clearkit saw the bush and quickly let go of her sister, scrambling to her feet again. "No way! I don't want thistle in my fur!"

Ripplekit quickly turned on her sister, pouncing on her. "Hah! I got you!" she giggled, pinning Clearkit.

Cleakit giggled and batted at her muzzle, trying to get up. She looked up at her sister with sapphire eyes gleaming.

Ripplekit took her paw and began tickling Clearkit. "Who's the best?" she asked, her eyes lighting up with laughter.

Clearkit laughed and squirmed, not giving in to her sister's torment. She rolled onto her stomach and lashed her tail to hit Ripplekit in the face with the soft object.
