Specklestream paced the nursery. She tried to lay down, but she always felt uncomfortable, in any position. She sighed. A sudden wave of pain came over her, and she forced herself to lay down. At first they felt like tiny kicks, but now, they felt like claws, stabbing her stomach. The waves of pain kept coming, so she finally shouted, "Sparrowleaf! Wisteriapaw! Condorclaw!" She knew it was time...

Salmonstripe perked her head up, "Specklestream, are you alright? Are your kits coming? Relax, just breathe! I've been through this twice before..." She mumbled the last part to herself, panting. She gently nudged her sleeping litter away from her warm belly, standing next to the other queen, and licking her soothingly. Although she wasn't Specklestream's mate, it's always good to have a little more encouragement and comfort, right?

Wisteriapaw was passing the den with a small flower in her teeth. Perking her ears, the distress signal entered her head. Dropping the flower, she raced in. Her fur bristled in emergency. "What's wrong?"
