Maplekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Duskfall came out into the clearing and leap on top of High Rock to hold a ceremony. It was high time that Maplekit joined her sister in becoming an apprentice. The brown tom surveyed the clearing, it had been a while since he'd held one of these. Settling into the new vantage point, he yowled for all to hear. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath High Rock for a clan meeting!"

Maplekit padded out excitedly. Finally she would become an apprentice.

Minnowpaw padded out of the apprentices den after fixing it and sat down.

Cloverpool followed her daughter and groomed her pelt.

"Maplekit, step forward." The deputy meowed, nodding for the kit to step in front of her clan to start the ceremony. Giving the kit a moment to approach, he took a deep breath and continued. "Maplekit, you've reached the age of six moons, and it's time for you to be apprenticed. From this day onwards until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Maplepaw. Your mentor will be Swirlspirit. She will teach you all that she knows."

Maplekit, no Maplepaw now smiled and padded over to touch noses with her mentor Swirlspirit, her sister-in-law.

Minnowpaw chanted. "Maplepaw! Maplepaw! Maplepaw!"

Cloverpool chanted along with her daughter.
