WC Border Patrol [Open training topic]

Lightfoot, though fairly young, found himself with an apprentice. He supposed it meant that Falconstar had thought he was a very capable warrior, though it was more logical to assume that it meant that the older warriors already had their paws full with their own apprentices. The tall white tom gently called into the apprentices' den for Slatepaw and any apprentice who was unfamiliar with the borders before he sat at the entrance of camp and waited. Today was a wonderfully warm day, so he didn't mind the pause before training would begin.

Slatepaw was snoring in the apprentices' den when Whitefoot, his mentor, called his name. The silvery-gray tom jolted out of his sleep, leaped to his paws, and shook moss off of his messy pelt. Trying to look as if he was just getting ready for a patrol, he strolled out of the den and padded toward the white tom. "Hello, Whitefoot!" The young tom's voice was rather cheery. "Do I have time for a quick bite to eat before we leave?" he asked, stifling a yawn.

Peonypaw woke flicking her tail before padding out and over to Lightfoot and her brother,Slatepaw."hi Lightfoot may I tag along?"she asked

IceStorm a new warrior, thought it would be good to help some apprentices and join a patrol. "Good morning Lightfoot, mine if I join?" He said with his deep voice.

"Certainly, you do." He purred in answer to Slatepaw. Lightfoot turned to see Peonypaw and Icestorm and dipped his head politely to the other warrior. "It would be a pleasure to have you both with us. There's time for you to eat as well, if you feel the need." He hadn't felt the sting of hunger yet. Instead his stomach was swirling with hidden excitement at training his first apprentice, though he was perfectly cool and collected on the outside.

"Thank you." he calmly replied. He too didn't really feel the need to eat so instead he sat down and enjoyed the summer breeze. He didn't have an apprentice yet, but the experience would be good for him.

Slatepaw grinned and dipped his head respectively toward his mentor. "Thanks!" On his way to the fresh-kill pile, he greeted Icestorm and Peonypaw. "Hello, Icestorm. Hey, Peonypaw!" he mewed, picking up a large rabbit. "Wanna share?" he asked, dropping it at his sister's paws and tipping his head.

Cobaltfire padded from the warriors den and headed to where several cats were gathering. She nodded at her former apprentice and at the rest of the group.

"Hey!" Tanglepelt called to Slatepaw and Peonypaw. "Can I tag along?" she asked Lightfoot, who appeared to be leading the patrol that was about to head out.

OOC: Welp I'm just gonna start this lol

IC: Lightfoot returned Cobaltfire's nod and then dipped his head in affirmation of Tanglepelt's request. It was a good sized patrol, and that would help Slatepaw learn to function in a group.  He gave everyone the chance to grab a quick meal if they were hungry and when everyone was ready, he stood and flicked his tail. "Let's make our way out, then." He gave his white pelt a quick shake and then made his way out of camp, expecting everyone to follow.

Cobaltfire followed Lightfoot out of camp and into the moor.

Slatepaw bounded after his mentor and Cobaltfire.

IceStorm returned his old mentors nod and quielty followed the others.

The white tom led the patrol group through the moorland, distinctly remembering the path his own mentor had taken him to patrol on. Maybe if they were lucky, they'd see a group from another Clan across one of the borders. Lightfoot halted the patrol a short distance away from the Gorge when they came upon it and rested his tail on Slatepaw's back to keep him from going any closer. "Be careful, now. This is the Gorge. It's WindClan's border with RiverClan and it is very deep and very dangerous. Many cats have lost their lives to it, and I don't want to lose you as well." He said genuinely. A strong wind carried RiverClan scent over to their side and he suddenly remembered that he was supposed to find out if his apprentice knew anything about the other Clans. "What have you heard about RiverClan, Slatepaw?"

Slatepaw didn't need to think before he spoke about RiverClan. "Their territory has a lot of water in it, obviously. RiverClan basically lives off of fish. The leader of RiverClan is Fishstar." he answered confidently, before faltering. Was that alright for a description of RiverClan? Did I say too much? Did I need to add more to it?
