Settling In (open)

The half-Clan kit, daughter of the deceased warrior Minnowflash, Cloudkit sat in the camp, prodding a half-eaten fish that lay at her white paws. She missed her brother, Lightningpaw, and often found her self at the camp entrance staring out into the territory where she should be, being that she was 6 moons old.

The half-ThunderClan kit stared at her food, not bothering to eat it. It's not like she didn't like it, she just felt that she should be happier in her father's Clan. Cloudkit had hated ThunderClan, with their prey having fur on it and tall trees towering everywhere.

Then, with a sigh she bent down to have another bite of the slimy scaled creature.

Fogkit walked over to the other kit sitting down, a smile in her face. It faded as she looked at Cloudkit, "Are you okay?" She asked concern crossing over her face as she looked at the kit. She realized it must be because of the kits half blood. She sighed and stood her blue pelt ruffled from waking up.

Ice kit padded in. The memory of her friends death, cloud pelt. Cloud pelt had met her on a walk a while ago. Ice kit was playing in the nursery when a white cat came by. She was friends with golden heart, the white cat said. They became friends. Today, golden heart, the cat she talked about, came by. She told her that cloud pelt had died. "What clan you from?" She asked. "A far away clan, cloud clan." Said the tabby warrior. "Ok, that's cool," she replied. Later today, she came in. She was pure river clan. She couldn't wait to meet more kits that came in. She sighed. I need to get adopted she thought. She rolled on her back and juggled a moss ball. Sighing, she flipped on something sharp. Pain whipped through her. She was bleeding badly. She screamed in pain, waiting for someone to help her. The sharp thing cut her stomach badly. "Help!" She cried again.

As Fogkit arrived, Cloudkit lifted her head to greet her den-mate. "Hi. I'm Okay, just trying to settle in is hard when you're half ThunderClan. But, I belong in RiverClan where my father lived." The light grey and white kit lifted her chin and forced a smile. "You can have the rest of the fish, if you want." She offered with a prod of her paw.

Fogkit smiled but shook her head. "No, you should eat." She replied with a nod of her head. She laughed at her friend, "Don't worry so much you belong!" She added we smile light and friendly as she spoke to the fellow kit.

Stream kit popped her head in. She said hello to her den mates. She looked at a few scraps of mice on the ground and nibbled them up. "Whatcha doin'?" She asked them. She over heard their conversation but toned out, she didn't want to eavesdrop. She looked at them again and sighed. Maybe these kits will wanna be my friends, she thought. She heard no responses. She stared at the floor and cried. Will I ever fit in? My only friend is shimmer paw. She began wiping away tears. They all ignore me. She sighed and began to cry again. She walked out of the nursery, she padded to the river (where the kit adventure begins)

Cloudkit smiled at her friend Fogkit and bent down to finish the last of the fish. "So, when will you be apprenticed?" She asked politely.

Stream kit came back with pretty shells. "Wanna decorate?" She asked sweetly.

"It will be any day now." She said softly excitement fizzed inside her. "Oh hi Streamkit!" She said to the young kit.

"Wanna decorate, or should I tell you a secret now?" She asked, smirking.

The older Cloudkit glanced at Streamkit. "Decorate? What would we decorate?" The light grey and white kit frowned a little, not sure about the younger kit.

Stream kit said, "the den, silly! We could make our nests pretty with seashells!"

With a shrug Cloudkit looked at the younger kit with her cloudy blue gaze. "That would make our nests uncomfortable, but you could do it if you want." The mature kit, who was actually an apprentice older than Streamkit wasn't keen on doing things like that, she preferred to talk to older cats about hunting and the territory, and to also pick up on a few battle techniques she saw the warriors do when sparring.

A brown tabby tom emerged from the nursery, his maroon ripple-like stripes shining against his fawn coloured pelt as he stretched and padded over to a group consisting of Cloudkit, Streamkit and Fogkit. "Hi." The tom greeted with a smile as he sat down next to Fogkit. "What're you all doing?"

Stream kits smile faded. "I meant that we could put them AROUND our nests, not IN them! And I can be like an older kit if you want!!" She huffed upsetly. She saw a new kit pad in "hi!" She said. She hoped SOMEBODY would want to be her friend! Couldn't anyone appreciate her? When I grow big and strong, they'll see!
