April Gathering 2014

"I'm Firepaw," She replied.

MidnightPaw tilted his head. "Huh? Why are you winking? "

Breezefeather emerged from the bushes into the clearing. She shook a few leaves off her pelt and scanned the clearing with her emerald green eyes, looking for someone to talk to. Her luminous dazzling eyes spotted Stormblaze, talking to an apprentice. She decided to go and chat with them. "Hi, Stormblaze." Breezefeather greeted and nodded to the apprentice. "I'm Breezefeather, who are you?" She asked calmly.

OOC: okay guys. TC hasn't arrived yet, don't post as TC characters yet. Just waiting for Sunny

OOC: So sorry. Spring/Easter break visiting relatives in internet-less areas.

IC: Dewstar halted behind the undergrowth. She lifted her nose into the air, taking in the scents of the Clans, and then signaled for ThunderClan to charge to the clearing. The white hairs around her muzzle and paws shone brightly in the moonlight and betrayed her rather old age. She joined Reedstar and Falconstar on the Great Rock, nodding to each solemnly. Maybe there would be only three Clans left in the forest. She gazed out over the crowd, and wondered to herself. How far will this go before we all murder each other? Perhaps it was a mistake. But something had to be done to stop the murders, and she wasn't above destroying an entire Clan to protect her Clanmates, her family.

Swiftnose trotted along with his Clan. He hoped to see ShadowClan there, but at the same time her knew it wouldn't happen. They really are running this forest ragged, now, aren't they? He thought, regarding the leaders. As far as he knew, everything had been semi-peaceful before the three leaders mixed. They were such different extremes from each other, but where they really that different? Each doing what they thought was best for their own Clan, in their own way. StarClan, protect us from these troubling times...

Sunface was beside her mate and kits, feeling very stressed. How would the other Clans treat them? Were they comrades, or rivals? As far as she knew, most Clans took even sides- two versus two. Never three versus one- but times had clearly changed. The three leaders had made names for themselves as heroes for future generations of ThunderClan, RiverClan, and WindClan, but as terrible foes to ShadowClan. It would take many generations for their names to fade. She sighed. Would she ever be that important? No, probably not. Sunface thought with some dismay. I'm just a warrior, serving my Clan. I don't need to make history, I just need to protect my family. She nuzzled Addertail with a purr and then charged with her Clan into the clearing.

Darkpaw slinked along in the darkness of the night, somewhere in the middle of his Clan. He was still rather young, but he was calm and collected. Rumor had it that there had been five Clans in this forest, but there seemed to only be three Clans attending. Darkpaw didn't mingle, yet didn't stay with his Clan. He just found a suitable spot to watch the leaders and sat, not speaking to anyone. Now would be a good time to get to know the other Clans' leaders and see how they lead.

Addertail shuffled slightly in unease. He wondered how things had changed with Shadowclan...Had they learned their lesson? Had they even gone back to their clan? Perhaps they ran off to never return. He had wondered about them every now and then, but it was hard not to with one of their most fowl warriors sitting in their camp all the time. When were they going to do something with him? He seemed to refuse death despite hunger and blood-loss, the stubborn tom. Addertail stifled a scoff and forced himself to relax slightly. He needed to think more about his own clan and how they could pull through anything the other clans threw at them. The other clans had fought beside them against Shadowclan, but what now? Things could return to normal, though everyone would probably was waiting to hear what became of Shadowclan; perhaps the other clans had detected them lurking around somewhere, as Thunderclan really didn't seem to hear much. The border they had with Shadwclan seemed a little quiet too him still and although there was an occasional breeze of Shadowclan scent near it, he never saw anyone.
Addertail was jerked away from thought as he felt Sunface nuzzle him, and he felt a little less tense. He purred back and stood as the clan ran off towards the gathering; he wasn't surprised that Shadowclan hadn't shown up...Yet.

As ThunderClan made their way into the cleaning, mingling with the early cats of RiverClan and WindClan respectively, an air of stale friendliness and ominous uncertainty surrounded each and every cat who arrived there. There were a few that tried to keep up the usual, talkative spirit of the normal gathering, telling subtle stories and talking to old friends, some meeting a few new others, though that stillness in the air refused to find its way away from them. It left them stiff and curt, and even the most oblivious of apprentices had noticed. The fourth clan never made it's appearance.

It started subtly, darkness creeping out of the night sky and leeching it's way onto the edge of the moon. The Great Oaks made no wail, but continued to let the wind carry it's sorrowful song on the breeze as the black shadows grew, overtaking the moon, it's shape growing until the moon was half the shape of what it was before. From the edges of where the moon remained, a deep orange began to ooze out of the white light, seeping out into the darkness that had taken it until it was nothing but pure red itself. The chaos spread further and further on, slowly but not stopping, until the entire gem was nothing but a blood red ring hanging dangerously over them all.

Firepaw decided she would just sit by herself for this one. She would talk with those who approached her but, other than that, she would just remain silent while she sent silent prayers to StarClan in hopes they would guide ShadowClan back to their homes if they hadn't already returned.

Bramblestripe followed the other Thunderclan warriors into the clearing and sat by herself.

Stormblaze smiled at Breezefeather.
"I wonder if Shadowclan is going to come," Stormblaze whispered quietly to Breezefeather.

Firepaw looked around and sighed. Her chest hefted heavily.

Nightglow yawned and looked at Twopelt.
"Are you bored?" she asked him.

"Knowing them they are probably wallowing in their self pity, the mouse heatts." Breezefeather spat, her normally peaceful green eyes burned with mailce.

IC: Dewstar's gaze was tracing the crowd when she noticed the dim light of the moon slowly fade. Perplexed, she looked up into the sky. Her eyes grew wide and fearful as the bright white glow slowly drowned in an orange-red tint. What?! What's happening?! Her fur stood up on edge and her eyes grew wide with fear. She looked around at the mass of cats who had not yet noticed. How can they not see this? She looked back at the other two leaders, her ears flat with fear.

Swiftnose's amber eyes began to reflect the red glow from the moon when he looked up. He froze in his spot, almost like his paws were weighted down by invisible boulders. Clouded-out full moons, shooting stars, omens of every kind... I've seen a lot of them, but I've never seen this before! "Dewstar!" The medicine cat cried out to get his distracted leader's attention, and both frightened pairs of eyes met. "Dewstar, I don't understand what's happening... I've never heard of such a thing! We need to find Mallowroot- he is the oldest of the medicine cats and could no something!"

Midnightpaw mewed loudly. "Look up! The moon is red!"
