Birth topic

Dawnfire was slowly walking toward the fresh kill pile when she felt a hard push in her stomach. She let out a yelp of pain and made for the nursery, knowing that it was her kits coming. "Swift nose! Nightpaw!" She called " goldfang!" She felt another push an let out a gasp as pain flowed through her whole body. The kits were here!

The medicine cat heard the queen's shouts and rushed to her side, helping her into the nursery. He put down the rather small bundle of herbs he had collected to give her some comforting words."It's alright, Dawnfire. I need you to just relax and take this stick in your jaws. Goldfang will be here soon." Swiftnose placed the stick next to the queen, his words and body language calm.

Goldfang burst out of the warriors den with such speed that it would put rabbits to shame. Once he realized what was going on he went straight for the nursery.

Nightpaw looked to see Swiftnose helping Dawnfire into the nursery. He rushed into the medicine den, getting a soaked moss ball. It looked like Swiftnose had mostly everything taken care of, so he decided to get something simple for the new coming queen. He carried the moss to the nursery, placing it down next to her. This would be his first time helping and watching a queen give birth. He sat to the sides, waiting for Swiftnose to instruct him if he needed to help with anything.

Goldfang stayed outside of the nursery so he didn't get in anyone's way.

Dawn fire winced as another ripple of pain went through her. She grabbed the stick in her jaws and almost crushed it. She pushed hard, gasping in pain the whole time.

"You're doing well, Dawnfire. Just keep on pushing and stay relaxed." Swiftnose nodded in thanks to Nightpaw when he brought the soaking moss and then returned his attention to the queen, placing his paws on her swollen belly.

Goldfang wanted to help but couldn't for he was not a medicine cat he just hoped to starclan that she lived through this. 'Hang in there Dawnfire.' He thought.

A huge pain went through Dawnfire as the kit came out. The stick was now on the ground in many splits. The moss that Nightpaw had brought her had been mostly licked dry. Dawnfire weekly nudged the little white kit toward her flanks and began to lick him clean.

OOC: okay he is born now frost fall so you can go ahead and role play him

He nuzzled closely to the warm flank beside him. Feeling the rasping of a gentle tongue caress the length of his side. A sweet smell enticed him closer into the warm flank. His instincts telling him to suckle and gain nourishment. Beneath his chin somewhere in his mind he knew that this warmth, this smell, belonged to no other but his mother.

Yet another part of his mind was trying to put things together such as who was he, what was he, where was he, why was he here? All the questioned played vaguely about in his mind like a whirlwind of leaves caught in a strong wind. Only the answers to these questions wouldn't come to his mind. It all seemed so confusing to him at the moment. After a long moment he felt his chest rumble a sound emitting from deep within. Before he could even contemplate where the sound was coming from and why he felt his mind dragging off to sleep.

Goldfang walked in to the nursery to his mate and his son. "I'm a father...." He meowed happily.
