Surprise Attack!

Raccoonstar stood on the edge of the Shadowsky territory waiting for a patrol to show up. She was staking claim to the territory and no one would stop her. Some may think she did this out of selfishness but the reason she is not one selfish at all, at least in her mind. Behind her hidden in other parts of the forest were Riverclan and Windclan warriors waiting to strike.

Reedstar stood close by, looking over every tree as if ShadowClan warriors would leap out at any moment. If the rumors were true, they were probably sleeping in camp since the sun was still shining, but there had to be some kind of patrol passing through soon as one last sweep of the area. The leader felt a flicker of doubt pass over his heart. It felt wrong to help Raccoonstar defend the stolen territory, but he had to honor the pact the two Clans had made... and acknowledge the fact that the last of SkyClan were in WindClan's ranks now, not ShadowClan's.

SkyClan territory was strange. The ground was hard-packed and rocky, the trees thin and tall, and nearly completely free of undergrowth, unlike ThunderClan's forest lands. It was his third time in another Clan's borders, but his first for a battle. StarClan, give us strength to win.

Standing next to Raccoonstar was her deputy, Falconfang. He had refused to lay in wait with the others, fearing that something bad might happen to his leader before anyone could get to her. Acting basically as an unspoken bodyguard, he eyed the other side of the scent lines warily, waiting for any hint of a Shadowclan patrol to arrive. He had no love for that devious clan, so he was more than willing to take the rest of the former Skyclan's territory for Windclan, but he was always nervous, for this was the first battle his kits - nearly warriors, though - were participating in. He just hoped they'd be alright.

Eaglepaw was bristling with exciting. His first battle! Against Shadowclan, no less. Those crowfood-eating mousebrains wouldn't see them coming! Trying to keep himself still enough to not hit any of his clanmates, he still could barely contain his excitement, even if they had to team up with those fat Riverclan cats. But, if that was what the leader wanted, he could not question her. Still, he would claw any of their faces if they even tried to take Windclan's rightful land. For now though, they were in this together.

Mistpaw wearily stood as she glared into the shadows, she knew all to well a cat, a menacing cat, she has fighting experience from those serious battles, not practice battles, but battles that meant on life and death, her claws extended and clawed the ground, a growl escaping her maw, thinking of that tom just wanted to make her claw his face off! her fur began to bristle with aggression, this wasn't her first, nor her last.

Mapleclaw held her head high as she stood near Reedstar; a toothy grin on her face as she dug her claws into the ground. How perfect was this; that she would stand against ShadowClan for her first battle as deputy...That would would stand against Eagleclaw. Her grin faded a bit at the thought of having to fight her 'ally' but she knew she was far more loyal to RiverClan that that slimy eel of a cat. She would happily give that ShadowClan filth a fight he would never forget if she had too. She didn't care that they were 'allies'...After all, something about Eagleclaw just unsettled her to her core.

Of course, Mapleclaw wasn't completely happy with this whole battle thing. Why did Reedstar have to waste precious warriors in this battle for territory that they weren't even going to get a paw in? If they somehow manged to lose to ShadowClan, RiverClan would be hurt deeply in this; as they had no real reason to fight other than for that petty alliance that Froststar had agreed to. She let out a soft hiss, glaring at Raccoonstar. She had her own warriors! If she wanted this land so badly, she should fight fairly for it. However, as Mapleclaw started to think more, she started to reflect on her own alliance with Eagleclaw. Were they truly must different; her and Raccoonstar? Both had made alliances for their own gain, and were plotting to use their 'alliances' for gain that would barely help their alliances...But...No.

Mapleclaw shook her head as her ears went flat, trying to pull herself together. She was better then Raccoonstar! She wasn't planning to use her alliance unless she had no other choices! In fact, Eagleclaw could almost forget about having her help his own raid unless she needed his help. It would only be from a fair trade would Eagleclaw get her help...As long as they helped each other, her alliance was far better then the one that Raccoonstar 'claimed' to have with Reedstar...If you could call it an Alliance.



Twistedfoot had his head low as he waited for ShadowClan to show up, his gaze flickering around with a bit of fear. Never before had he been in a real fight with other cats, but here they were. He swallowed, glancing at his twisted foot. How he wished he could of been back at the camp, but he knew that his mother needed all the warriors she could get. No way was ShadowClan going down easy.

Badgerpaw however, was ready. With a grin, he silently slashed at the air in front of him to test out a few moves, before raising his head and staring into the shadows of the ShadowSky territory. His first real fight! This was going to be awesome! He was going to shed those no-good, frog-brained ShadowClan cats! He glanced around from the cats of his own Clan, not really focusing on his RiverClan allies. No way did he really trust those fish-breath, but if Raccoonstar did...Well, he was sure he could deal working along side them for one battle.

Lying in wait hid Nightbird, as silent as her namesake. This would be no where near her first battle, but this was first with Shadowclan. This would just be a battle over land that wasn't hers, so nothing was at stake to the black cat. Narrowing her eyes to green slits, she waited patiently for the Shadowclan cats to appear.

Nearly bursting out of his fur in excitement, Deerpaw crouched low to the ground, looking just like a mound of dirt. Considering he had fallen into a puddle on the way here, acting like dirt wasn't hard. Glancing at Mistpaw, he tilted his head slightly. Why is she so tense and angry? Surely she hadn't had a run-in with these fleabags before, right? Nudging her with a dark paw, he threw her a confused glance. She wasn't like this the last time I saw her.

Ivyfur was proud beside her deputy, a branch beside him, with nothing but a proud look in her eyes. The warrior had took a practice session beforehand, and she smiled. The young warrior could see Shadowclan running in terror after this. They would get this, and she knew Starclan'd be on their side. Shadowclan has no right to this territory. She thought, secretly. It was a little... unusual for her to think these dark thoughts, but she had to have something to keep her on her paws. The thing she didn't agree with, was that Riverclan was joining them. She had a personal discomfort with the clan, yet welcomed their help. Nodding to Raccoonstar that she was ready, the small tabby knew she'd have a slight advantage with how her speed and size could be used to help. Being light and swift was another. She looked to Reedstar and Raccoonstar for their signal to launch, and her blue eyes gleamed with hunger... a hunger to win.

Yet this she had to get over, as if she kept with this, the bright tabby would loose much more, as one who planned an laid out what was to happen for them personally. With her claws itching for excitement, the back of her mind kept saying: Don't do it!

Meanwhile, Leafstream was hiding higher in a lone tree, whose leaves covered her well, as her pelt was mingled easily with the multi-colored wonders. She watched down below for the signal from the leaders, and her claws hurt from attempting to climb up the tree that had barely any bark left, from years of harsh weather. Luckily, she had gotten up, yet wrenched a claw from it, leaving her paws soar and claws pounding, yet her nerves were wacky as she had no hope to win this battle, even though two clans against one would help, but it would surely cost them. Yet alas, she still held her ground, as she was to uphold the promise she made becoming a warrior to her clan, and she would devote her life to it if it meant so.

Fear pricked at Sandwhisker's paws, threatening to overwhelm him completely. He'd never been in a battle before, and he wasn't the most skilled fighter. He hadn't even been a warrior for more than a few days. He watched his leader and mentor stand with Raccoonstar, Falconfang, and Mapleclaw, admiring their boldness and bravery. What am I going to do if they don't surrender the land peacefully?

His cover was a stray bush, being one of the only bushes in the immediate area, with brown branches dying from the swiftly-approaching Leaf-bare. His sandy pelt blended in perfectly, his amber eyes barely reflecting any light. If he were brave, he'd feel fully confident that no cat would ever see him coming, but the thoughts racing in his mind were only of how he would be spotted if he wasn't perfectly still or if he wasn't entirely concealed.

Hawkpaw crouched next to a sleek Riverclan tom apprentice, his calm face weirdly reassuring her. Her first battle! Her blood rushed through her veins as she waited. She breathed in and out, looking among her.

Stormpaw looked to the nervous, excited Windclan she-cat apprentice next her him. He calmly ignored her and silently waited for his leader, or of any sign of Shadowclan cats.

Littlepaw stealthily crouched next to Hawkpaw, his eyes shining with excitement, determination lighting him. He turned to Hawkpaw, silently whispering in his ear, "this your first battle, too?" he asked quickly.

Hawkpaw looked to the apprentice next to her. "Yup. What about you?"

Littlepaw gave a quick shake of excitement. "Yeah," he whispered.

And then, once again, none of ShadowClan arrived because it was daytime and they were all sleeping. /shot loljknotmycallbutseriouslycommon
('cause froggies and etc. only come out at night, and its a betch to hunt in muggy sunlight, you know. uwu and sending a patrol midday is like any other clan sendimg a patrol at midnight. why waste precious sleeping time working in unfavorable conditons? The night is longer anyways.

I covered your covering. Despite what Reedstar thinks, it doesn't make much sense.

To be honest, even with the night in our favor, we'd still be at a disadvantage. (And it isn't up to you guys to decide what our clan does...? If we wanna sleep in the day, then damn, we can sleep in the day. Its not like it isn't canon.)

But really, I'd just like ShadowClan's lore to be respected, with them being nocturnal.
