Silverpaw's Assessment

Reedstar sat with his tail curled around his paws in a small clearing, facing Silverpaw. They were enclosed by a wall of mist and fog, and a chill pierced right through his fur. The cries of birds could be heard somewhere off in the distance, but all smell of prey seemed suppressed under the sweet scent of the recent rains.

"I'll be monitoring your hunting abilities today." he mewed. "I want you to try and find three pieces of prey before this fog clears and bring it back to this spot. I'll be watching you. Is that clear?"

OOC: I just copied this from Sandpaw's assessment, pretty much word for word. I'm really sorry for my extreme laziness. *shot*

Silverpaw looked at Reedstar shyly. "O-Ok..." Flattening her ears, she scowled herself. She was in front of her leader! "Yes, R-Reedstar... May I begin?" She asked, quietly. She needed to get over this, or trouble would spark.

Reedstar gave an affirmative nod and twitched his tail. "Yes, you may." he mewed, before noting Silverpaw's timidness. "Don't be pressured. Just try to forget that it's an assessment. Go now, you have no time to waste."

The apprentice nodded, then headed off. With he fog as an upper hand, Silverpaw ran, before silently scenting the sweet smell that a mouse gave off. Trying to spot it, she purred before crouching, hoping to try and catch it.

With a glad smile, she was shriveled at the shriek the prey gave off when she killed it, sending shivers down Silverpaws' spine. The fog had gotten a tad lighter, and she hoped to finish this off. But, when she heard the soft noise of the creek that hadn't yet frozen, she knew fish would be there. Sitting down by the soft water, she darted a law at a fish that swam nearby.

Silverpaw hissed silently at her miss, but when she spotted another fish, with its scales giving off the hint of it's large appearance, she unsheathed her claws and went after it again, her tail flicking in annoyance on how it had been hard to catch.

Even though she had missed the large fish, it hadn't exactly darted away out of her reach. Sending her paw back in, she hoped to finally get it.

Finally being able to kill it, Silverpaw brought the large fish to where she had placed her mouse, and buried it beside the piece of food. Killing fish wasn't so bad as killing mice; because they didn't send a blood-curdling scream into her head and chilled her spine. But sniffing the air, she could hint Reedstar's scent, and she glanced that way amusingly, before the smell of two water voles hit her nose. Spinning on her paws, she silently darted off for it, hoping to finish her assessment. Finally reaching them, she noticed how small both of them looked. But first thing, one started parting, to go hide. She decided to go after the more plump one, however, as soon as she started to go after it, the other one had arrived back! Sliding her claws out yet again, she used the leap-and-hold battle move she had been taught to kill them, as they were close together.

One she had indeed killed, but the other was still sitting beneath her weight, trying to squirm free from it's skinny friend. The squeak the one let out when she had indeed killed it freaked her out, but she decided to finally try and end the other one's life with a blow to the head. Hoping her strategy would work, and noticing how the fog was vanishing quickly, she delivered the blow.
