Ravenpaw's border patrol

Nightcloud sat outside of the camp, waiting silently for Ravenpaw to show up. Nightcloud was a bit nervous of training a new apprentice so soon, mostly that she had just finished up Eaglepaw's training and he had yet to get his warrior name...But after a few moments to just breath, she calmed down as she tried to pull her thoughts together. Yes, she might have a new apprentice so soon after Eaglepaw, but Ravenpaw would be easier to train now that she knew that she was doing and the fact that Eaglepaw had always seem to have a bar set for himself. Ravenpaw would be a nice smooth ride after Eaglepaw; but of course Nightcloud didn't really mind how hard Eaglepaw had been to train, she still loved him.

Ravenpaw went over to where her mentor was sitting. "Hey, Mapleclaw! What are we doing today?" The kit asked, but she wasn't a kit mewling for excitement.

Nightcloud smiled as she looked at Ravenpaw, getting to her paws and flicking her tail. "We are going to check the borders. We also may do some hunting if we have time," the warrior added with a hum. She paused for a second, before turning and heading toward the ShadowClan and ThunderClan border. As they walked, she glanced at the young apprentice, her eyes sparkling. "So, what do you think of being an apprentice, Ravenpaw? Is it nice to finally be able to leave the camp?"

Ravenpaw padded beside her mentor. "I guess. It's nice being able to explore more." She added.

Nightcloud nodded, smiling a bit. "Yes, being able to explore the terriory was one of the things I liked best of being an apprentice." The warrior however became quite as they came upon a large black path that cut though the territory. On the other side of the path was no trees to be seen, barely having any bushes either. A horrible scent rolled from the road, one that made Nightcloud cough a bit. She stopped a good distance away from the path, glancing at Ravenpaw. Hopefully the apprentice would stay away from the Thunderpath, no way did she want a repeat of what happened with Eaglepaw. "Welcome to the Thunderpath," she said with a small sigh, trying to push the thoughts away from her last time being here. "The Thunderpath is of course a path that is taken by foul monsters; beasts that are far bigger than cats and can easily crush a cat under their paws." She flinched a bit as she thought back to the news of Froststar being killed by one at the last gathering as she looked at Ravenpaw. "In fact, the pervious leader of RiverClan, Froststar, was killed by one not even a moon ago. I don't even believe that Froststar was on her final life...So take that as a warning to stay away from the path. However, the path does also serve as the border of us and WindClan, and there is also a Thunderpath that serves as our border with ThunderClan."

Ravenpaw nodded. "I'll shred any cat who crosses. They need to respect our borders." The young apprentice hissed, protectively.

A small frowned appeared on Nightcloud's face as she shook her head. "While protecting our Clan is a very important thing to do, it is not always smart to be picking fights where they may not be needed. It is always important to find out what is going completely on before you jump into a fray. While it is true that most of the time the other Clans will only cross our borders for selfish reasons, a young apprentice may not be fully aware of the borders or the other Clan could always need our help," she said as she turned and started to pad toward Fourtrees. She wanted to be careful; no way did she want Ravenpaw to be as battle-hungry as Eagleclaw is...She was sure that one day; that Eagleclaw was going to get himself killed picking a fight... As she walked, she glanced behind her at Ravenpaw. "Battles are never always the way to go. If you ever want to be leader; you need to respect the Clans when it is needed and not find yourself as odds with all of them because you are unwilling to help. If the Clans never worked together, we would of been destroyed all those moons ago when the Deomilites attacked us."
