Lightpaw & Briarpaw's Warrior Ceremonies

Reedstar leaped onto the low-hanging branch of the willow tree in the center of camp, digging his claws into the bark as it swayed under his weight. How did Froststar manage this? he wondered as he looked over camp. A warrior ceremony... He'd overseen both their assessments and knew they were ready, but it still felt somehow wrong for him to be the one to grant them their names. It was sacred, the work of a leader... But now he was leader, and there was no one else.

"Let all cats old enough to swim gather to hear my words!" he yowled, trying his best not to let his uncertainty enter his voice. He had to do this right, for their sakes if not his.

Lightpaw padded out of the apprentice den. She wondered what the meeting was about. "probably another apprentices ceremony." She mumbled. Lightpaw had no idea that this was going to be her warrior ceremony.

IC: "Lightpaw," he started, swishing his tail. "You have shown the Clan that you are ready for your warrior name." Reedstar looked down thoughtfully before saying the ceremonial words. Did he look like that when Froststar gave him his warrior name? No, I hadn't been prideful. Only bitter.

"I, Reedstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Lightpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Lightpaw looked up at her new leader, joy filling her eyes. "I do!" Lightpaw said, loudly and clearly.

Briarpaw, who had been there the whole time, sat with a smile on her face as she awaited her turn for her name.

Reedstar smiled. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Lightpaww, from this moment you will be known as Lightstream. StarClan honors your kindness and determination, and we welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan."

The leader turned to his own apprentice. "Briarpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

OOC: Do you have a warrior name in mind, Coon, or do you want me to pick?

Briarpaw looked up at her leader with a beaming smile, "I do." She mewed in response

Briarpaw's smile made Reedstar's day and filled him with pride. I'm the one who got her prepared for this moment. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Briarpaw, from this moment you will be known as Briarheart. StarClan honors your enterprise and we welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan." he said. He leaped down from the branch and rested his muzzle on both of the new warrior's heads. "Tonight you will both watch over the Clan in a silent vigil." he purred. "You have both earned your true warrior names and your pick from the freshkill pile today."
