It is called Pokemon: The Origin. There is no Pikachu character in this trailer. I don't really care though, because they are finally doing what Pokemon fans wanted to be done since the anime started. Maybe I'll actually watch it now! 8DD

I thought it was canon that Red had a Pikachu. I suppose they didn't do that to distance themselves from the original crappy anime, but still.
Either way, this looks great. We've all been waiting for an anime more closely connected to the games, and our prayers have been answered. 8D I just really hope they don't screw it up.

They are calling it a special, so I wouldn't count on a full series. D; Maybe a few episodes or something.

The thing is, Pikachu was his starter in the games. In the trailer, he picks a Charmander (as opposed to the games where he gets it on the Nugget Bridge).

Yellow to an extent, yeah. It's my headcanon that the games follow the events of a mix between Red/Blue (in pretty much everything) and Yellow (with Pikachu/Venusaur/Charizard/Blastoise all being in-game event Pokemon that Red gets).
