Bonding Time

Raccoonheart padded out of the nursery, and gave a stretch with a yawn. She looked around the camp. Where was everyone? The she-cat gave a puzzled look, and started padding around the camp for no reason. When it hit she nearly fell to the ground, "We don't really spend much time sharing tongues like we should.." She mewed to herself. "The only members I know well is Stormstar, and my kits." The gray queen sat down in the center of the camp. "We need to spend more time together so no clan member feels left out.." She hoped the someone would join her soon.

Falconfang was finishing off a pice of prey at the fresh-kill pile when he noticed Raccoonheart padding out of the nursery. That was odd: usually it was only him who was up and out here this early. Thinking on that, the warrior started feeling a bit awkward at being awake before the deputy. Was that disrespectful? Swiping his tongue across his jaw, Falconfang padded over to Raccoonheart and waved his tail in greeting. "Hello Raccoonheart," he mewed, hoping he at least sounded friendly rather than sad. "How come you're up so early?"

Raccoonheart looked up at the warrior, "Oh Hello Falconfang, I need sometime away from the kits you know? I love them to death, but sometimes you just need time to yourself." She mewed. She stood shook out her pelt, and then sat again. "Why are you up early?" She asked him in a curious tone. She began to trust him a little, it was just a little, but it was still there.

"I couldn't sleep," he mewed a bit softer, looking over at the fresh-kill pile. "I... haven't had a good night's sleep in many sunrises. Do you want something from the fresh-kill pile? I can go grab something." He gently shook his head to try and knock away any traces of the sleepiness that still clung to him.

Raccoonheart looked at him, puzzlement was clearly shown on her face. "How come?" She asked looking at him with a slit tilted head. She needed all the warriors to be in top shape no matter what the situation. "Oh no, I can get something for myself." She replied to the warrior.

"Just... bad dreams," he mewed. At least it was true, if not everything. "I'm fine though," he finished quickly, hoping that she wouldn't think he was too tired to do his warrior duties. "If you need me to go do something, I'm perfectly okay to do it."

"It doesn't seem you are fine." Raccoonheart commented. "You should try to get some more sleep or try to fix what ever is causing your bad dreams." She paused, but then her stomach growled. She laughed at it. "Looks like I do need something to eat."

I don't know how... But he only thought this. Instead, he stayed silent and let Raccoonheart head to the fresh-kill pile to get something to eat. How could he get more sleep if he was constantly stressing over regaining his clan's trust, even if it was coming back slowly?

Stormstar pulled himself from in den, his fur ruffled. His eyes was dark, and his face had a sleepy look to it, but when his paws touched the freezing snow that covered the camp, he jumped back. His gaze shifted to his snow covered paw before hissing something under his breath and walking into the cold, morning air; now wide awake. He noticed his mate and Falconfang, and quickly did attempt to comb his fur down with trying to push the nightmare he had from his memory before padding up to them. "How is everybody this wonderful morning." he meowed trying to make his voice sound cheerful but he doubt he was doing a very good job.

Falconfang started when he heard the mew of his leader. Turning his head towards Stormstar, he tried to smile and respond at least somewhat cheerfully. "Oh, fine," he mewed, knocking a bit of snow away with his tail. "Just finishing off some fresh-kill."

"Cold, but good, My love." Raccoonheart purred, as she padded up to her mate. She sat down next to him. She licked his should because she is to short to reach his head. "How are you?" She asked staring at Stormstar.

Stormstar's fur pricked, as he started to recall his nightmare and just shook his head. "Tired, but I'm fine. Just having a hard time sleeping."

Minteyes rolled over in her nest and stretched out her legs. Standing on all four paws and padded out of the den with a sort of clumsy grace as she did almost every morning. Seeing Raccoonheart, Falconfang, and Stormstar she nodded to each of them and sat with a large yawn.

Falconfang gave a slightly nervous wave to Minteyes, giving her a glance before turning back to Stormstar; he hoped that the leader hadn't noticed his awkwardness around his fellow warrior. "So, is there anything we should be doing, Stormstar? Any patrols or something?"

Stormstar had been lost in thought, thinking about the nightmare he had before Falconfang spoke and brought the leader from the memories. The large tom shiver in fear, hoping that his nightmare would be anything but true. "Having a border patrol would be a very good idea..." Stormstar responded, his tail flickering. "I want to know if anything is off on the borders."
