"I can have fun." the tiny kitten snapped. "What do you do? Sit on your rump all day?" she sneered through a light silver muzzle.

Scarletpaw shrugged. "I wish. I need the rest. I can't really do anything but do stuff I don't want to do. I mean, training is fun, but we've got to do it constantly and I have no time for myself." She yawned. "But why should you care?"

"I don't." she said with a snort. "I have nothing to do with those mouse-hearts called a clan!". She glanced at Dispare, wishing she was a warrior.

"Good. What's the difference than rogues and Clan cats? I don't get it. Gee, you can do whatever you want when you want to. Anything else?" she asked, tilting her head.

"Rogues are better than clan cats. We can take care of ourselves, and eat when we want!," she began "While clans go worshiping dead cats!"

Scarletpaw made an odd face. "You don't... er.. "worship" anything? Who's there to guide you?"

"Myself. And my denmates." Gracekit snapped, tiny kit tail lashing.

"We don't believe in your "StarClan"," Dispare hissed,"Sure, our cats may die, we tell stories to our kits about them and their greatness, their victories, their power..."

"Yeah!" the kit squeaked. Sticking her nose in the air she meowed "That's why clans are not better!"

"Where do dead cats go, then?" she asked smally, scratching her ear.

Gracekit glared at her. "Do I look like I'm dead?" she meowed.

"Not really. Are you supposed to? Do I look dead?"

"With your black fur, yes." the kit joked, the old sparkle in the chatterbugs eyes returning.

"Okay." She didn't fancy starting a fight, but she didn't understand. She shrugged and laughed with her.

"So what are the clans like?" Gracekit asked.
