Running in fear.

Pantherkit had taken the lead after a while of running. His paws ached, and he dragged his tail along the grass. The had finally reached the River, so he decided to stop and rest a bit. He looked at the churning water and stuck a paw into it. Why is it so cold... he wondered as he pulled his now soaking paw out and began licking it.

"Rest for a bit...it was a long trip." he finally mewed, resting his paws on his head and closing his eyes.

Badgerkit smiled. Yes, they were going to stop for a bit! She laid down next to her brother, feeling safe, and closed her eyes, but she knew that she was to scared to sleep...why did they run? What was Pantherkit hiding? She knew that maybe it was better if she didn't know, but she couldn't help but wonder...

Mothkit prowled ahead, her different colored eyes hostile. "Explain to me again why we ran away." The small kit asked, her eyes narrowed. She was angry, and tired, a lethal combination. Thorns and prickly little plants cut into her tail, and her usually sleek tabby coat was a bit muddy and matted.

"Reasons you won't know until your older." he meowed, his eyes still closed. He rubbed his face with his paws, the grass tickling him.

Mothkit frowned. She was never outwardly angry towards anyone, just at herself and the situation. So the small she-cat sat on the ground, and began tugging knots of golden fur out of her fluffy striped tail. "Pantherkit. I'm very tired and hungry. We saw the river, may we go home now?"

"A long trip? Running is in our blood..." While Sparrowkit smarted off, she practically collapsed on the ground from exaustion. While the two talked, she took the time to catch her breathe and listen. "Older...? Older?! No way, Pantherkit!" She managed to jump back on her feet, padding forward and sticking her face in her brothers. "No way! You dragged us out here and we're all in this together!" Sparrowkit hissed lightly, fluffed up like a puffy ball. "Why did we leave our home, Pantherkit? Why did we have to go?" Her eyes bore into his skin, flaring a bright and cold blue fire. She only stepped back to look at Mothkit, sighing... The sooner, the better.

"It's...it just holds bad memories for me now...I can't tell you. You wouldn't want to go back either. I don't want you to feel the pain I feel. I want you to live happily, and without a worry in your life. You couldn't have a good life with this story I hold. I promise I'll tell you when I feel your ready." Pantherkit meowed, opening his eyes and looked at Sparrowkit. He then looked at Mothkit.

"Soon...just wait a bit..." he whispered, hoping some RiverClan cat would come sooner.

Badgerkit, who still had her eyes closed, covered her ears with her paws. She was as upset about leaving as her sisters, but she knew that Pantherkit would keep them safe...wouldn't he? She sighed, hoping that maybe if they where lucky, a RiverClan or ThunderClan cat would come, and take them to the camp. She just wanted to be in a warm nest, with her siblings.

"I'm ready now..." Sparrowkit sat down and grumbled. She didn't like being dragged to the river for no apparent reason, breaking Wolfpelt's heart, and being kept in the dark about the strange scent on Pantherkit's pelt. Dude, screw this. The moment they got home she'd badger the tom for answers... with Badgerkit.. And Mothkit of course. This was mouse-dung.

Hawkpath padded over to the three kits. "Why are you all out of camp?" She said sternly.

Badgerkit opened her eyes at the sound of the voice, and pulled her paws away from her ears, and looked up at the she-cat, her blue eyes wide. What would she say...maybe she would let her brother do the talking. Badgerkit hide behide her brother, her tail and ears flicking as she looked at the huge she-cat.

"Why did you cross that river?" Sparrowkit retorted, her claws dug firmly into WindClan soil.

IC: Pantherkit looked up at the she-cat standing before them. She smelt familiar, like how Icewhisker smelt. He shook his head, trying to get rid of the memories that flooded his mind.

"Camp? What's that? Is that a warm place? Can we come to yours? We don't have anywhere to go..." he lied smoothly, glad someone came.

Badgerkit still stayed behide her brother, shaking. Her eyes wide, and her pelt was covered with mud. She didn't know what to make of this she-cat...was she a RiverClan cat? She sure seemed like one. It calmed Badgerkit knowing that this was a Clan cat, but she didn't move from behide her brother, nor did she stop shaking.

Sparrowkit froze, her gaze shooting at her brother... what was he doing?
