Sootpaw padded over to the fallen oak, She wondered if she could find prey there. She sniffed the air and smelled a mouse, She located it and stalked it. She pounced as it started nibbling on a seed, but it saw her and scurried under the tree.

Hazelnut jumped for the mouse,claws unsheathed.She flung it in the air,biting into it.

"Nice." Sootpaw mewed to the warrior.

"Take she replied dropping it at her light gray paws.

"Thanks," She mewed then she buried it. She sniffed the air for more prey, then realized something. She went over and sniffed the border. "The Thunderclan scent is kind of old."

Sootpaw smelt the air and hissed "Fox...."

As soon as the apprentice said that,a Fox charged out of the bshes ramming into Hazelnut.She yowled in agony as the fox ripped gashes in her sides and stomach."S-s-sootpaw."she hissed weakly "Help."

Sootpaw saw the fox, and pounced on it. She dug all her claws into the fox's back. She then bit down into the back of it's neck almost to the bone.

The fox yelped and shook her off. It then ran off into Thunderclan territory. She went over to Hazelnut, and picked her up by the scruff and started to drag her to camp, "Hold on Hazelnut, we'll be to camp soon."

The warriors eyes began to close and her breathing came shallow."Deadfaith"she murmered."I'm coming."she said with her last breath on earth.The striped warrior was dead.

Sootpaw's ear twitched, when she heard what Hazelnut had said. She turned to see her flank not rising. Her eyes grew with terror. "Oh no! This is the second time I have seen a cat die!" She yowled. She pick her up again and ran to the camp as best she could.
