Waspswarm was innocently walking through the territory... In the branches. Ever since she could climb trees, navigating the soil just made her feel bored. Up in the trees, you always had to be thinking and careful of your paws. As she peered now the branch at the sound of fallen leaves rustling, it seemed as if perhaps her brother didn't feel the same way. Foxsnap was walking under her... Lost in his own world perhaps? With a wicked grin, Waspswarm quietly jumped from branch to branch to position herself. When she was close enough to her target, Waspswarm leaned into her instincts and jumped, landing squarely on her brother's shoulders and pinning him to the ground.
"Always look up, brother." She said with a giggle, feeling him wiggle beneath her.
Waspswarm used Leap and Hold causing 6 non-lethal HP loss and using 15 EP.
It didn’t make sense to travel in the trees. Harespring and Otterpaw weren’t to be found there. Had they just been caught in the limbs of a tree, a patrol would have found them by now. Wherever they’d gone, they were grounded. That made sense. It had it. It was the thought that drove Foxsnap’s paws forward, kicking through the scattered leaves. He could take to the heights for a better line of sight, but down here, he would catch their scent--if any still lingered, at least. He hadn’t found any yet.
It was his fault, wasn’t it? That they’d disappeared. He’d been too hard on Otterpaw, or Harespring had gotten sick of him for some reason. Or his brother’s fears about the world had been right all along, and something had swallowed them whole. Somehow, that had to be his fault, too.
A rustling overhead made Foxsnap’s ears tilt, pulling him out of his reverie. He looked up just in time to see Waspswarm leaping from the branches. While he had enough time to squawk in alarm, he couldn’t move out of her way in time. He began to squirm beneath her paws the second she landed on him. ”Don’t you have anything better to do?” He huffed. There was irritation in the words, and it welled hot in Foxsnap’s throat over the fact she was interrupting his search like this, but at the same time… stars, this felt nice. He couldn’t really be mad at her. The physical weight of Waspswarm atop him, a reminder that she was still here, was an overwhelming relief. It soothed the fraying parts of him, chased away repeating thoughts of ruin.
Though he wanted to linger under the feeling, Foxsnap wasn't so far gone as to just let Waspswarm hold him down. His wriggling eventually proved fruitful, and he was able to buck her off him and scramble away. He squared his body, tucking his chin to his neck and moving parallel to her. He could allow this, he supposed--a quick spar, to take his mind off things. To celebrate Waspswarm's continued life.
Foxsnap attempted Duck and Twist... attempt successful! Dealt 7 damage and cost 10 EP.
