Leopardwind wondered what he had been thinking when he left so soon after Blazepaw was assigned to him. And he wondered why no one had replaced him as a mentor for the young apprentice. Was it grief, hope that he would return, or simply incompetence? Regardless, he was back now, and he wasted no time in getting back into his duties, bringing Blazepaw out for what would be his first ever training session. Unless someone had been training him while he was away?

"I apologize for leaving so abruptly." He seemed to be making plenty of apologies lately, and yet he found no shame or remorse when he searched for those in his voice. "But you should face no difficulty getting back on track if you will it." He held Blazepaw's gaze, recalling the young tom's determination to serve his Clan even as a kit. "I am sure you will do well, and I swear on StarClan that I will see to it that you do." Golden eyes narrowed, searching the apprentice's face for the familiar fire that had once shone back at him in even the muddiest of puddles. The same fire that would bring this tom to great places... and with him, WindClan. That's right; he was here to teach the next generation of his Clan, to succeed where he might've failed. "I will make you a warrior to be proud of." And I hope that at the end of your journey, you can be proud of me, too.
