Cedarkit _
Cedarkit's eyes welled up with tears. His heart felt so heavy with sadness, it pulled him down as if it were a stone sinking into the bottom of a river. Stubby legs gave way and the kit let himself crumble onto a pile of fallen leaves. He'd wandered out of the nursery for once instead of staying by his mother's side, offering her grounding nudges to remind her she'd always have him. "How does a little mouse sound, Mama?" he'd mewed softly. "I'll be back soon."
Soon 'soon' became much longer than it seemed for the ruddy kit had gotten distracted by the golden, orange, reds and browns scattered on the ground. He found himself drawn to them, looking for a few that had not been trampled. The burly kit first reached for an orange leaf that had begun to brown at the edges, with splotches of darker reds blending with the orange. Maplekit.. he thought, fondly remembering the calico pelt that belonged to the most energetic of his sisters. His eyes then caught onto another fallen leaf, this one dark brown and tattered, scorched by the sun. Blackkit.. The first of his siblings to fall ill. Lastly, a lighter red leaf with orange patches. And Echokit.. She'd always seemed the most childlike and carefree of the three sisters to the tom. He'd hoped Starclan would spare her, but now she seemed to be developing the same sickness as his other two sisters.
With the illness there was nothing Cedarkit could do to help. He'd felt utterly helpless and restless while his siblings slept in the medicine den. Each day had felt longer than the next, hoping that he'd see their faces emerge from the den with bright eyed eagerness to experience life. He shouldn't have to do this alone. It's not fair. Stars.. they've still got so much to live for. All the emotions he'd been bottling up inside, hiding under a facade of strength and steadiness he felt his mama needed came bubbling over the brim. The tears kept coming, overflowing and spilling onto the leaves he had gathered in his paws. "Don't go... not yet. Please.." he blubbered, sniffling as he buried his face into the pile. "Don't leave me and mama.."

FISHPAW
Now I face out, I hold out...
Fishpaw was returning from a hunting patrol, chin and tail held high. Despite the… hiccup with Wolfpaw, training was still going well. For once, Fishpaw actually thought he could be something under Quillsplash’s guidance. A frog hung between his teeth, and he was proud of it. As he made his way toward the fresh-kill pile to deposit his prize, his eyes raked across camp. The few deciduous trees that grew healthy enough to bear leaves, and grew close to ShadowClan’s camp, had started to change colors. Fishpaw found the sight dazzling; he’d never seen leaf-fall before, and all the burning colors were gorgeous. It was nice to appreciate the view of leaves scattered about as he crossed camp. But, just before he reached the fresh-kill pile, something caught his attention.
He almost missed it, the kit huddled up with the leaves--they were nearly the same color. But Fishpaw spotted the shivering. His ears angled forward and he diverted paths to take a few steps closer on pure curiosity. As he padded nearer to the kit, he realized it was one of Lilyvalley’s… the last one of Lilyvalley’s. And the kit, whose name he couldn’t remember, wasn’t shivering for no reason--he was crying. Fishpaw’s ears fell back. He wanted to turn around immediately. He didn’t know what to do about a crying kit. He, rather plainly, didn’t want to talk to a crying kit. But he’d already gotten close enough to draw attention, and--geez, he sort of had to say or do something, didn’t he? It’d be poor of him if he didn’t.
Fishpaw padded close enough to stand just on the other side of the pile of leaves the ruddy tom-kit had gathered. He knelt down and gently set down his frog before looking up to meet the kit’s eyes. ”Hey,” he said with a friendly wave of his tail. ”I’m Fishpaw. Wanna tell me your name?” He settled fully onto his belly, then rolled easily onto his side. ”Oh, and you can have that.” Fishpaw smiled and pawed at the frog he’d dropped. He didn’t really want to give the frog up, but… ”Food always helps me feel better.”

LILYVALLEY
If we did what was easy
Lilyvalley was really trying. She wanted to be the rock for her kit, she should have never even let it become the other way around.
She was supposed to be a mother, but with each kit that fell ill, it just broke her more and more. And now her son was having to take care of her. He was still so young, he shouldn't have to have that sort of weight on his shoulders. But just as she was ashamed of how far into the depths she had let herself fall, there was another emotion in there. Pride. Everytime she saw her son step up, she couldn't help but smile. How had her little boy grown to be so strong?
So when he said he was going to get a mouse, she nuzzled him with a purr. "Alright, baby, I'll be right here."
Except as she waited for her son, she realized he was taking longer than he should have been. Fear clenched her heart as the seconds passed. Camp was a safe place, at least it should have been. But she has had a kit slip out of it's confines before. She lost Beetlekit that way, what if Cedarkit had decided he couldn't handle the pain she brought on?
Finally, she decided enough was enough, and made her way out into the clearing. It did not take long for her to find her kit, letting out a sigh of relief as she saw he was just talking to the apprentice that had joined the Clan.
Then she realized something was wrong. Cedarkit was crying. She scrunched up her face, trying to assess the situation, despite her instinct to rush right in. If she did that, she might have snapped at Fishpaw. But no, she didn't know Fishpaw well, but she didn't think he would be the type to make a kit cry. And if he was, Cedarkit wasn't the type to let that get to him.
So when she did approach, she wrapped herself around her kit, catching the tail end of what Fishpaw was saying. And so she smiled up at him, giving him a nod of gratitude. "Thank you, Fishpaw. We appreciate that."
Then she bent down, whispering in Cedarkit's ear. "I'm here, baby. It's going to be alright, okay? I've got you."

Larkshine had lazily been laying in her nest when a soft voice cried out. The voice was that of her friend's child. She slowly peered out the den with her good eye. Cedarkit's back was turned to her but the noise emerged from him no doubt.
She walked out the den just as Lilyvalley emerged from another den. Larkshine followed after her friend and sat down behind the older molly. The kit was crying for his siblings that had fallen ill.
A pit wailed in the warrior's chest. Guilt made her head sag low. Larkshine hadn't been to check on her friend in so long. "I'm sorry Lilyvalley. she mewed softly
