The sky was dark, but a few birds were chirping in the trees above as Hickorysmoke limped his way out of his nest and through the entrance of camp. He was tired of being cooped up, and just wanted to get out of camp for a bit. Being around so many cats for so long was something he did not enjoy. So out into the early morning he went without any cat stopping him and sending him back to his nest.
The sun was starting to rise as drew closer to the edge of Skyclan’s border. He could hear monsters roaring past on the thunderpath that was several fox lengths away. Hickorysmoke leapt up to a low hanging branch and laid down with his injured leg hanging off the branch. He closed his vibrant orange eyes and turned his nose to the air. “Might as well join me up here, Honey.” He called down to the underbrush below. The young tom had noticed his sister following him shortly after he left camp, but he didn’t mind one bit. She was his favorite sibling after all.
Honeypaw had found herself up early for some reason, settling outside the apprentice's den to wait for the morning patrols. Lost in her own thoughts, she didn't notice her brother padding from camp until he'd nearly vanished inot the camp entrance... And Honeypaw got to her paws and followed. The last time she'd followed someone out of camp had been Firetreader when he was still an apprentice, and searching for Hornetpaw. Hickorysmoke was no apprentice and probably wasn't looking for anyone, but he was still recovering from his injuries. Of course she would follow. To keep an eye on him. Not that she'd tell him that.
The sun was up and they had neared the border, Honeypaw trailing her brother in silence before he leapt into a tree. The sudden sound of his voice calling to her made her jump slightly, but the apprentice happily made her way into the tree next to him.
"Got sick of being in camp?" She was hardly apologetic about following him or even embarrassed at being caught. She'd at least get to spend time with her brother. "So, Hickorysmoke... How's the new name feel?"

Hickorysmoke Tier 1 Warrior| Skyclan | He/Him
A slight smile formed on Hickorysmoke’s face as his sister jump then scaled the tree to join him on a branch. His ear flicked back at her question. ”That obvious huh? You know me, never been one to be cooped up. This bum leg isn’t gonna hold me back. Should be healed in no time. He didn’t fully believe the words he said. His leg still bothered him, more than he’d like to admit. He felt like he would be stuck in camp like an elder for the rest of his days.
He didn’t dwell on his leg for long as his sister asked about his newly appointed name. ”I think it’s an okay name. At least Granma didn’t change my name to Toadstool or Snailtrail, ya know? I can’t wait for you to join me in the warrior’s den… although, I guess I’m still in the medicine den myself…” Hickorysmoke mewed.

"Yeah, kinda." Honeypaw replied with a grin. Her brother had never been subtle, if something was bothering him, well, they'd all know it. The leg couldn't have been easy to deal with either. "Oh come on, grandma would never do that to you. Although maybe if I suggested it to her..." She trailed off with a smirk. The mention of her own warrior ceremony - it had to happen eventually, right? - made the humor drop from her tone however, "Do you think I'll be named soon? I've been working hard, really." She'd been less focused on her training at the start, of course, but Honeypaw hoped that her renewed efforts and determination were recognized sooner rather than later.
