Eating Alone

"WAIT! Silverkit!" Firefly dashed after her.

She ignored her, running swiftly and dodging trees here and there- anyone who didn't knpw she was blind would think she could see.

Deadfrost felt as if his heart had shattered, into little, tiny pieces. "How much longer....will this suffering go on?" He dragged himself into the warriors' den, and collapsed into his nest, wishing he could dream forever, of everything that was once good, that the world had spoiled.

Because of Firefly's much stronger and faster legs, she soon caught up with Silverkit and turned sharply in front of her. "Silverkit, running away is not going to solve this. You'll still make a great warrior if you take this disadvantaged and turn it into your greatest weapon."

"How can being blind help me? It will only make the clans think of us as weaker!"

"Then let them think that. We will catch them by surprise if they choose to attack." She mewed. "As long as you believe that, that is."

She hung her head.
I won't even be an apprentice. I will have no one to mentor me...

"...Maybe Lilyleaf will give you something to do. I you think you might fail as a warrior." She picked her kit up by the scruff, and hauled her back to camp, and to the nursery.

"Well that's reassuring."
She mumbled.

IC: Deadfrost forced himself up, and followed his mate and daughter's scent. He caught up to Firefly and Silverkit. "Listen, Silverkit," he gasped. He forced his breath to go normal. "Do not think lowly of yourself. Look at the mistakes I have made, and look at me physically. It is blinding, in a way. It dragged on my kithood, and it caused me much pain, much more than you could ever dream of. I've lost my father, my brother, my only son ever, and my mother is too busy to talk to me much. You have one thing. And I understand being blind is bad, but look at how much more others suffer." He licked her little cheek.

IC: Firefly licked at one of the scars on Deadfrost's face. "Once someone chooses to ignore something that you think is wrong with yourself, is when you finally decide you wanna live."
