Scorchivy had seen the newly brought in kit, a small ginger scrap that Cloudjumper and Leopardwind had found. A sunrise had passed, and no patrols had been able to find any signs of the kit's parents. It seemed sure to all their clanmates now that the kit-- Amber-- would be accepted into WindClan. After all, this wouldn't be the first time WindClan would take in a stray rogue kit they found. Hadn't Molehill and Rapidfire's daughter, Weevilpaw, also been born outside of the Clans? Yes, it wasn't an uncommon occurance at all.
At the moment, Cloudjumper and Leopardwind, who both seemed to have taken on some form of role to care for the kit, were out on patrol, leaving Amber to the rest of the queens' care. Nectarflower had been taking care of the she-kit all morning, so Scorchivy figured it was her turn to keep Amber entertained. The brown tabby spotted the spotted kit at the entrance of the nursery, and lumbered over with a smile. "Hello there, little one," She purred, "Has something gotten your interest?" As long as it wasn't something very physically taxing, Scorchivy was sure she could accompany the kit.

""O-oh... Uhm... I've just, er... Never seen so many cats before..." The little kit watched her paws like they were the most interesting thing in the camp, but those blue-green orbs occasionally darted to the other cats around her when they moved.

Oh, what a poor thing. Scorchivy felt her heart melt a bit when Amber spoke. She must be so confused; come to think of it, Clan life was extremely complex, she'd probably never fully get it if she wasn't born in one. "If the number of cats scare you, we can go somewhere quieter," The tabby offered kindly. There were several spots in Camp that was partially hidden from the rest, and at this time of day, surely some would be vacant? "And I'm here to answer any questions you have," She added, resting the tip of her tail gently on the top of the kit's head. She wondered how old Amber was-- she looked so young, it didn't seem possible that any mother would willingly abandon their child so early.

Amber looked so relieved. "Please...? There's so many cats..." Her tail was flicking in her nerves, paws shuffling and shifting her weight eagerly. "So, uhm... I heard someone mention a clan...? What's that?" She looked up at the tabby, orbs wide as all kitten's were. "And what's a gathering? Why is there a big pile of prey? What are all these dens for?" At Amber's agreement with the idea, Scorchivy leaned down to gently pick the kit up by the scruff. She slid Amber onto her back, purring instructions for the kit to cling on tightly, before setting off in search of a suitable spot. It didn't take long to find a shaded area beside the elder's den, where she set the spotted kit down and plopped down herself, tail curling around her paws.
Gosh, what a lot of questions Amber had! With a purr, she answered, "A Clan is what we call our group of cats. There are five Clans in the forest, and we coexist in peace-- or try to, at least. We follow the Warrior Code and take care of each other, just like I and the other queens take care of you. A Gathering happens once a moon, during the full moon, and its when all five Clans come together to share news and mingle with each other. Its a night of complete peace. The big pile of prey is called the fresh-kill pile. Warriors place the prey they caught there, and the rest of the Clan takes prey from the pile. The dens are for the different ranks to sleep. For example, the nursery is where the queens, like me, stay with the kits, like you. The elder's den are for the retired members of the Clan, the elders, and so on."

Amber's ears faced the queen in front of her with interest... "And what about this 'Warrior Code' that I heard about? The cats who found me mentioned it..." She seemed to lose a little bit of her spark when mentioning how she got here- But she was a cheerful kit. She was quick to bounce back."Oh- And, uhm..." Her attention was caught by something else now- A butterfly distracting the kit as she reached a paw up towards the colorful wings.
