Hunt Some More [Nerd]

Blackpaw found herself on a simple hunting patrol. Just another warrior and apprentice accompanied her on this outing, not that she minded. More food was better for the clan even though she would prefer guarding the borders. The itch for a fight always under her skin, though not much seemed to settle it. It must have been something she picked up from her father.

"Where would you like to start?" She asked the others on the patrol, willing to let them guide her for now.

Back to the grind. Minkpaw was on patrol again, determined to bring back plenty of food for the clan! “I was kinda hoping you’d show me some of the best places,” she mewed to the older apprentice. “I know it makes me kinda lame, but I haven’t actually hunted in this part of the territory yet.”

Blackpaw nodded, remembering for once she was the more experienced apprentice, and it seemed the warrior wanted them to figure it out on their own. Shame. "Follow me then, stay quiet." The black She-cat responded. She didn't need the other scaring away potential prey.

After a minute of walking, they reached a spot that Blackpaw had hunted in a couple times before. It wasn't her favorite spot but it would do for the time being. A mouse scratched at some tree roots and Blackpaw instantly fell into a crouch, going for the prey. It was an easy catch, hopefully her companion could do the same.

Minkpaw nodded in understanding. So this was a good spot for mice, then. She’d come home with a bundle of fat ones! She wandered off a little, nose to the ground until she found a scent trail. Just as she’d hoped, she found a mouse and it never even noticed her coming. This was her cleanest kill yet! She strutted back to the patrol with her head held high and the mouse clamped firmly in her jaws.
