Tiny kitten ears poked up above a stand of fern to the side of camp, acting as a periscope for the kit concealed within. The perfect hiding spot, or so she thought. If anyone actually looked there was the tip of her tail, flicking rather obviously in the leaf litter. Perhaps they would also note two amber eyes peering between the fronds. From here Echokit observed the going-ons of Shadownclan. Lilyvalley had scolded her for bothering -and staring at- other cats too much. The kit huffed, remembering her mothers words to give her clanmates some space. Apparently it was "interrupting" if she tagged after patrols on their way out. She'd only wanted to ask where they were going, what they were doing, when they were coming back, if they've ever seen a rock bigger than Leapordstar's, how many frogs they would catch... Some got huffy after too many questions, as she'd learned the hard way. It was better to observe from here until something extra interesting caught her attention.
Fortunately, the kit had spotted just that. With as much stealth as she could muster Echokit started creeping forward from her hiding place, on route for the apprentice she'd just spotted. She could barely contain a grin as she stalked clumsily forward to sneak up on him. As soon as her target was close she popped out of the ferns right in front of Willowpaw. "Hello!!"
Although it was doubtful she'd actually gone unseen, the enthusiasm in her attempt was obvious. "Did I get'cha? Did I??" Echokit hopped excitedly around her cousin. Hopefully her good-natured attempt to startled him had worked.
