Falconmoon waited for the next day after coming back to camp from Highstones to bring up his news with Wolfstar. He was tired and so was Thymelight, probably her more than him. He gently nudged his mate awake from the medicine den, then walked into the leader's den assumedly with her in tow. He cleared his throat softly as the rest of the clan was still sleeping. "Mother? I know its a little early but I have something to tell you." He looked back at Thymelight quickly before his eyes went back to his leader curled up in her nest. "We have something to tell you." He sat down and politely waited. He wanted to be sure that Woflstar was completely awake before he began to speak. Whatever Thymelight wished to say, of course she was welcome to say it.

Starclan was allowing medicine cats to take mates now, but with only the two of them, both guilty, as witnesses... would she believe it? Should they tell the other clans? Maybe not. Maybe this was better left to Wolfstar, if she even believed them at all. He wasn't so sure that he would if he were in her position.

Wolfstar stirred, blinking up at the sound of her son's - deputy's - voice. "Yes? Come in, Falconmoon, Thymelight." She had finally gotten a decent night's sleep for what felt like the first time in moons, though the leader was still tired. It was morning though, and well past the usual time she was awake. Wolfstar gave herself a small shake, rising to her paws.

"What is it?" Hopefully it wasn't news of more stars-forsaken dogs or foxes. If a medicine cat was involved though, Wolfstar had practically been conditioned to expect the worst at this point, and a worried frown settled onto her face as she glanced between Falconmoon and Thymelight.

Thymelight took a deep breath. She had practiced what she was going to say in her head several times, but now that she was faced with the situation, she suddenly forgot how to speak. Her mind was full of doubts. It had been a rule for ages that medicine cats were not allowed to take a mate or have kits, so Wolfstar would be fully within her rights to not believe a word she had to say. She had the right to be angry as well. Even if StarClan didn't care anymore, Thymelight had been pregnant before they had known about this news. It would be difficult to articulate, but there was no backing out now.

She gave Falconmoon a quick glance before clearing her throat. It was best to just get it over with instead of stalling, even if she did want to stall for a bit.
"Wolfstar.... I- I will be having Falconmoon's kits." She admitted, before going silent for a moment. Although it was only a heartbeat, Thymelight felt her heart swell. This should've been a joyous time for her... finally saying out loud that she was going to have children of her own with a cat that she loved, but she realized that there was still the possibility of being scrutinized.

"We went to the Moonstone to speak with StarClan about this. We wanted to repent to them first and foremost, but they told us that they... She faltered, before shaking her head and continuing. "...they told us that they aren't mad. They said that medicine cats can take mates now. Apparently they reviewed their stance on the matter and decided that it was time for a change."

Was she leaving out anything? The medicine cat's brain was still a bit foggy and she was trying to keep her nerves in check.
"StarClan may not have needed an apology but I still want to apologize to you, Wolfstar. I know this news may come as a shock. If you find punishment to be a suitable reaction then I will accept it graciously."
