| Nectarflower Rank: T5 Permaqueen
Nectarflower woke with a start, her shoulder aching and belly tender. It had been some time since she officially retired to the nursery and her time in the sheltered space had been, for the most part, peaceful. However, she'd begun to notice strange things lately. It first began when she started to gain weight. Though, that could be explained away by her sudden lack of exercise thanks to her still healing leg. Even her lightheadedness and sudden bouts of nausea she figured were just side effects of her injuries and the herbs Hemlockfox frequently pestered her with.
In the back of her mind, Nectarflower realized that all of these symptoms were eerily similar to those she had experienced when she'd been expecting Weaselfoot's kits. But, of course, that was impossible. She and Kestrelchirp had only been mates for a short time and, even then, she was still recovering from her broken leg. Now, though, that her belly kept growing and she could feel the telltale sign of kits moving within her, Nectarflower couldn't keep ignoring the signs.
She was expecting again and probably had been for a long time.
Nectarflower's face crumpled at the thought, and she looked around the already full nursery, her chest tight. WindClan's warriors were struggling to keep up with the numerous mouths to feed as is - would they really be able to support her and however many kits she would birth? Not only that, but she'd not even spoken to Kestrelchirp about having kits. What if he didn't want any? Would he leave her? Would he even want to be a part of their lives? Deep down, Nectarflower knew he would be a fantastic father, but what if he wasn't ready yet?
Well, at the very least, she needed to see Hemlockfox and have him look her over to make sure she and the kits were okay. Then, if all was well, she would tell Kestrelchirp. Yes, that was a good plan. See Hemlockfox in the morning and tell Kestrelchirp after. Hopefully, her - their - kits were okay. Hopefully, this would all work out. And, stars, what would Eveningmoon think? It had been so long since the young warrior had littermates to play with and talk to...
Would she even want to see the kits when they were born? From the size of her alone, there had to be at least four of them. Nectarflower sighed and rested her chin on the edge of her nest, green eyes half-lidded as she watched the sleeping queens and kits. She would just have to figure things out tomorrow, when everyone was awake. Everything would be fine.
