Drink to Live a Heathen Life [C]

OOC: Nooooo clue how this all works now so I am winging it.

IC: Asmodeus scented dogs in this territory, remembering what had been said at a previous gathering about Skyclan's territory being a dangerous one. With his head on a swivel, both for other cats and monstrous dogs, the rogue slipped deep into Skyclan territory all of the way to the creek. Taking advantage of the water source, he dipped his head and gulped the water as if it was the last creek on the planet. The Skyclan cats certainly had better water than the city puddles. Now... how was their food? He eyed a quail further upstream, the little bird frantically taking a drink then looking up to watch him. Asmodeus slipped away into a bush, pretending to be moving on and not have seen the bird.

The rogue carefully made a wide loop, silently moving between bushes until he managed to get behind the quail. It was now pecking at the ground by the creek, not far from where it was when Asmodeus slipped into the brush. The black and white rogue leaped for it.

Of course the bird moved at the last moment and his claws only caught empty air. He scowled, his tail lashing. What had made the bird move? Nothing should have- movement behind him. Asmodeus spun, his heart racing thinking it might be dogs... but no. Just another tom. "For just a moment I was worried." He grinned, purposely taunting the other tom. He knew how these clans operated by now. He knew a fight was inevitable. Maybe it would be a challenge this time. This time it wasn't some ratty-tailed kid. "Are we dueling, big boy? Or are we going to talk like civilized cats?" Asmodeus buried his paws under pine needles and unsheathed his claws. He was ready.
