Tigerstar wasn't sure how he felt about the request he received. While he agreed that the warrior deserved a rest, spend time around camp, it just made him feel off. Happy that they managed to get this far, but sad she wouldn't fight along side her clan anymore. It was something he could process later, right now he needed to fulfill her wishes. "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather here for a clan meeting!"

Nectarflower's tail flicked almost impatiently as she laid in the center of the camp, her leg stiff and sore. She'd spoken to Tigerstar earlier in the day about leaving the warrior's den...permanently. It wasn't really something she'd been excited to ask for - or even wanted to ask - but as the days passed and her wounds began to heal, it became clear that she'd never be able to run again. She tried to put it off as long as she could, but there was no denying it. However, at her age, it was almost insulting to retire as an elder when she could still do something.

Finally, Tigerstar's familiar pelt caught her eye, and she watched expectantly as he ascended the tallrock. She'd asked for help earlier in the afternoon to get to the middle of the clearing, so there was no need to move. She just had to wait, and she'd officially be retired from the duties of a warrior. Oh, but what would the clan think? She certainly wasn't as young as she used to be, but she wasn't old by any means! Would they laugh behind her back? Would Eveningmoon or Larchpaw be disappointed in her? Stars...she certainly hoped not.

This was tough, so to speak. He never imagined doing this ceremony, turning one of the cats he grew up with to retirement. But at the same time it was a better fate than death that others experienced too soon. "Today we gather to celebrate a bittersweet moment. A warrior has approached me earlier in the day about retirement. While it is sad they will no longer hunt and fight along side us, it is also joyous that they reached a point where they can step aside and spend the rest of their moons relaxing."

He let his words settle for a moment before turning his attention to the cat that had requested this. Nectarflower, is it your wish to give up the name of a warrior and go join the queens in the nursery?"

Nectarflower's gaze flickered briefly with uncertainty as Tigerstar spoke, but she steeled herself and straightened. It was hard to sit up without wobbling with her leg still broken, but she grew accustomed after a moment and found her balance. Carefully, so she didn't fall, the warrior turned her head up towards the striped tom and listened with a grimace as he went on. She didn't want to spend the rest of her moons relaxing. She wanted to run the moor and care for her clan. She wanted to protect her loved ones, but how could she after all that had happened?

Retiring had been the last thing on her mind until recently, but StarClan had clearly made the decision for her. Besides, it might not be so bad in the nursery. She'd spent six moons there before - when she'd had her first litter - would this really be all that different? She wouldn't have her own kits this time, but she'd still be able to help by caring for the kits of her clanmates.

Honestly, would that be so bad? She adored playing with her kits when they'd been young and, more recently, Larchpaw and Snowvixen when they'd been young kits too. The tension slowly left Nectarflower's body and, with a more determined expression, she nodded. "Yes. It is, Tigerstar." Well, not really, but she'd manage regardless. It would be okay.

The striped tom nodded at her words. "The clan honors your many moons of service, and hope Starclan grants you the rest you deserve." He said, a touch of sadness in his voice, no matter how much he tried to push it down. As soon as he could he jumped off the rock, and hung to the edge of the crowd that was congratulating the new retired queen.
