Looking for a Fight, Looking for Fun [Grub Jr]

Body coated in slime from a recent unsuccessful dumpster dive, Grub Jr was practically skipping down the black and crumbling asphalt that made up the road. Every now and again she would take a hearty leap over a hole created by cars continuously running over the same spot, the little tune she was humming skipping in her throat as she landed. Her path was not straight; often swerving in and out of the road whenever she found something interesting like a rat squashed so flat it was hardly recognizable. She knew what this one was by the naked tail that miraculously made it out unscathed, carefully snatching it up between her teeth to gift to Maggot when she returned back to the Crew.

Just as she was about to make another grand leap over a hole in the pavement, an unfamiliar voice called out from beside her, causing her to snag a paw in the dip in the ground and eat dirt as she tumbled off the road and into a ditch. Fury surged in her tiny body as she slowly got to her paws one by one, a nasty scowl making her scraped nose scrunch up painfully, tiny droplets of blood falling on her paws. "ThIs iS sHaDoWcLaN TeRriToRy. You're a mean ole badger; you think it's fun bullying kids?" Whoever this cat was, it was her fault her nose hurt and the tail she was going to use to prank Maggot nowhere to be found. "You made me lose my catch, too!"

A spray of spit left the kits mouth as she hissed back in reply to being called stupid, her yellow eyes narrowing in a glare to let this mean ole badger know she didn't care for it. Her little claws flexing in and out, making tiny marks in the earth below her. Rules, sh'mules.

Grub Jr's expression, however, shifted slightly as the curious words she used to describe the swampland territory just behind the stranger. Her head peered around the spotted older cat, no longer caring to hear about much else. Her dad had mentioned this... land of shadows, but not much else other than it had been littered with the corpses of rats when he had arrived. And it had also been empty. "Swallow me whole? With what mouth?" Another laugh escaped her. "Thunderpath...? Monsters? You mean the road? Cars? Sounds you it's you who isn't the brightest, not me." As the car passed them, she watched with amusement as the older cat stepped further away. It wasn't like the car was going to hit them on purpose... Though it's not like that has never happened before. You just had to know what to look out for.

"What is... A medici- medcin- med i sin cat?" A second, far more interesting new thing other than the territory being able to swallow a cat whole!

Lilyvalley rolled her eyes. This cat was missing her point entirely. "Okay, so we have a different name for those things. It doesn't make it any less likely to kill you. And swallowing you hole is just an expression. What happens is you sink into the mud, and you get buried alive. Understood?"

Groaning, Lilyvalley tried to think of another way to explain this to the cat. "Look, where are your parents? Didn't they explain to you how to be careful? You do have parents, right?"

She asked about medicine cats, and Lilyvalley had to stifle a giggle, and another comment about intelligence. They could really end up going back and forth about who was smarter.

"They're our healers. They know about all sorts of herbs that can treat all sorts of things. Our medicine cat can probably give you something for that nose. Unless you would rather sit and let it bleed, and maybe get infected, then by all means, since you don't seem to care much for your life."

Lilyvalley shrugged, beginning to walk away. Whether or not this cat followed her would be her choice.
