Harespring couldn't believe how fast everything happened. One moment he was helping look for signs of these strange creatures and the next they were right on top of them. As he stared down those beasts, flashes of the lake clouded his mind. How he was stuck, couldn't really move as creatures threatened everything around them. It was only cause of his brother, and Beechfang that he made it out, that he wasn't mauled.
Words shouted by the others went ignored by the warrior as wide eyes were locked on the beasts, bad memories filling his head until he watched his apprentice flash by. No.. No.. He wouldn't watch as another apprentice tried to fight these... things.. His brother was taken from him for a while after that. They needed to listen. Despite shaky limbs that threatened to give out with every movement the golden warrior sprung forward.
Everything moved so fast and so slow at the same time. Eyes locked on the beats as he made his way over to his apprentice. Teeth sinking into Firepaw's scruff as the warrior tried to drag him away. Away from the danger. Away from death that awaited them if they remained here any longer.
Firepaw shrieked fearfully as teeth closed around his scruff and dragged him away from the brawl. There was another dog! It had him! Hissing, the tortoiseshell tom writhed in the creature's grip before, finally, he managed to twist his head around enough to get a look at whatever had him. With bared fangs, he- oh. It was Harespring! The young apprentice's heart nearly gave out as relief coursed through him. Stupid! He was such a mousebrain! He should've recognized his mentor's scent, but he'd just been so frightened. The relief didn't last long, however, and soon made way for blinding rage. How dare Harespring stop him! Wolfstar and Stormwatcher needed his help!
Suddenly, everything Sunfire had said back when he was a kit, after Birdstar and Beechfang had been murdered, began to make sense. He was right! If SkyClan's warriors were this quick to run - to leave their own clanmates to die - they were no better than rogues! With a hiss, he wrenched himself free from Harespring's grasp and stumbled away. "Run away if you want, Harespring, but I'm not leaving them!" Not even if it meant laying down his life.
Before the warrior could attempt to grab him again, Firepaw bolted away and threw himself at the dog that had clamped its jaws around Wolfstar. He was furious. It was just his luck to get a mentor like Harespring! Didn't he care at all for the vow he'd made? That he'd give his life for his clan? Well, Firepaw wouldn't be like that when he became a warrior. Snarling as ferociously as he could, Firepaw released a flurry of claws at the beast's flank in an attempt to get its attention from Wolfstar. "Let go of her!" He yowled, voice carrying over the fray.
Firepaw used Front Paw Strike + Desperate Blows dealing 10 HP at the cost of 14 SP.

Due to recent events, this topic will be considered over. The patrol fled into the trees, making their way back to camp with the knowledge of the dogs occupying the territory as well as injuries.
