Despite his mother having a completely white pelt, Willowkit and his siblings had all been blessed with mostly black pelts. Sablestrike always told him that Starclan had blessed them with the gift of stealth, something invaluable to any Shadowclan warrior worthy of their name, but was a dark pelt really all they needed to be stealthy? He doubted it, but that didn't mean he wouldn't test it out! Sticking to the shadows of the nursery, Willowkit made his way around the inside of the den. The nursery was always crowded with queens and their squealing kittens, but what the tom set his sights on now was no mere kitten. She was like a beacon, practically begging him to use her for his practice. "One step, two, three step, leap!" Willowkit burst from the shadows and pounced at the multi-colored kit. She was way too bright to be blessed by Starclan like he was! "Gotcha!"

"Hey!" A startled squeal escaped Briarkit, who until her cousin had come bowling into her had been half asleep, trying desperately to ignore the sense of boredom she felt while being in the nursery.

Now, she lifted a white paw, batting at her cousin, careful to keep her claws sheathed as the queens were always going on about. "You had to sneak up on me to do that, no you don't." She huffed, launching herself at Willowkit playfully.
