Fire coursed through her veins as Bubblenose charged through the territory as fast as she could with the scruff of a limp body clamped between her jaws. There was no time to stop or worry about being gentle, all she could think about was how the rest of the Clan would react and what she would have to say when she was asked what happened. Stars, why had this happened? When she had first found the body by the Thunderpath, she hadn’t been able to recognize the form, but she was able to drag the corpse to safety before finally identifying it as Silentpaw. She hadn’t been able to scream or even speak. Was she doing the right thing? Surely the Clan would want to bury her. If Bubblenose wouldn’t have passed by in time, would the apprentice have been left to rot on the Thunderpath? No cat deserved to die that way.

She bursted into camp with wide, frantic eyes and dropped Silentpaw’s body down near the camp’s entrance. She had no idea what to do now. Bubblenose had never seen such a horrible sight and she had never reported a death before, and she had hoped that she would never have to do such a thing until today. “HELP?! HELP!” She called out, her voice just as confused and shaky as her limbs were.
