Pineblossom
Pineblossom knew that Badgermask was not a very sociable cat, and Pineblossom could respect that. But she also knew that she had been struggling for…a while. Comfort was not always Pineblossom’s strong suit, and honestly probably was still not, but she was better at it than she once was. While she had not spoken with Badgermask before, she was close with multiple cats in her family so…perhaps her presence would not be terribly unwelcomed.
She approached Badgermask while at camp. Ever terrible with her own words, she fumbled her way through a greeting. “Hello Badgermask…Would you mind company? I cannot recall the last time we’ve just sat and talked.” If ever, truthfully.

Badgermask had been hidden in the shadows near the warrior's den - her favorite place to rest within the camp, her orange markings really being the only visible aspect about her. Her eyes were narrowed, watching her Clanmates mill around the camp, content to stand apart of them all. She had not an active part in the lives of her Clanmates and she was perfectly content with that - she knew that most would likely get on her nerves and she didn't want to waste the energy trying to play nice as it was.
She was a little surprised when she saw Pineblossom head towards her, raising her head with a neutral expression. If it was any other cat, perhaps Badgermask would have swiped at her with a hiss to leave her alone, she knew Pineblossom was somewhat close with a few of her family. She had been Moondancer's mentor, not that Badgermask was even sure of what her sister had thought of her but... She huffed, resting her head on her paws with a shrug. "Do what you like, Pineblossom - but I suppose I won't object to your company if you are eager to share mine," she responded, truly not caring one way or another. After all, she knew she wasn't good company - she was sharp tongued, distrusting. Most cats got on her nerves and she enjoyed peace and quiet more than yapping she had no time for. If Pineblossom thought she was worth talking to, then that was Pineblossom's foolishness.

Pineblossom
Pineblossom nodded at Badgermask’s clipped approval. She settled down beside Badgermask, giving her a bit of space between them but close enough to indicate that they were still seated together. She settled her chin onto her paws and closed her eyes. For a while she let silence just settle between the both of them and enjoyed the darkness of the night. It was not often that she spent time simply sitting and listening. Her kits had taken a lot of that time away from her, and it was only since they had become apprentices that she was able to reclaim some of that time back.
After a while of silence, however, Pineblossom knew that she would need to actually speak if she wanted to talk to Badgermask. Her voice was quiet as she spoke to her. “Truthfully, I came to see how you were doing. It’s too easy for the well-being of clanmates to be forgotten these days.”

A content huff escaped the warrior as Pineblossom settled in silence, happy to let their close proximity be the extent of their 'bonding'...Until the older warrior spoke up, causing Badgermask to glance over with a frown. ...How she was doing? Was that truly all? Her tail lashed, pondering it over in her head. She suppose there would be few reasons to approach her otherwise - her relationship had been strained with her mother still, so to get in her good graces to appeal to Leopardstar was long out of the question and Pineblossom already was in good standing with her. Same with Heatherberry and...There was no other cats she was close to - just her remaining family.
There was nothing for Pineblossom to gain, nothing that the suspicious warrior could use as a reason to doubt. "...Fine enough," she finally answered, her gaze shifting to stare out at the clearing. It wasn't quite the truth and she knew it - her heart still ached at the loss of her father. Regrets that she had not known him as well as she wanted, hatred that she had failed to save more family but that...That was all a weakness she would barely state even to Heatherberry. Her guilt and regret were for her alone to deal with, so she focused on other matters. "I do my duties, what is asked of me. I see no reason to complain nor whine."
