Poppyshine
Poppyshine ascended the Willow Branch yet again and hoped that the heaviness she felt in the air was just her imagination. It was a time for celebration, when another apprentice would be entering their ranks. She knew that Lightningkit could be a bit of a pawful and would require a steady presence to make sure that she kept on track towards warriorhood.
She cleared her throat and took a deep breath to make the announcement. “Let all cats old enough to catch their own fish gather for a Clan meeting.” Her eyes jumped to the nursery, hoping that Lightningkit would be presentable and ready.
Clovermottle urged Lightningkit out of the nursery. She had a knowing feeling today would be an important day for the kitten she’d taken in. The tabby’s pelt was groomed with in an inch of its light, and her protests against it had fallen on death ears. “Move a little faster, Lightningkit! We don’t want to be late to the clan meeting.” chirruped the queen head butting the she-kit forward.
lightningkit wanted her adopted mother to stop pushing her to the willow branch she could get there herself"clovermottle i can get there myself i don't need you pushing me" she hissed in anger as she ran out of clovermottle's range she stood in front of the willow branch her tail held high in pride as she looked up to poppyshine from the ground below.

Lightningkit came out with Clovermottle and, though momentarily distracted, looked up at Poppyshine eagerly. She lifted her chin and began to recite the ceremonious words. “Lightningkit, you have reached the age of six moons. It is now time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Lightningpaw.” Her tail flicked in one direction, pointing out one cat in particular that she had deemed not only ready for an apprentice, but also to have a character tht would suit keeping Lightningpaw on the right track during her apprenticeship. “Swandive shall be your mentor. She is courageous and strong, having learned much from myself and she shall pass that knowledge onto you.”
Swandive remained near the edge of the crowd as Poppyshine called a meeting together. Hopefully an apprentice ceremony and not something serious, and when her hope was confirmed the pale warrior settled in, an ear flicked in the deputy's direction to hear what she had to say.
Her own name being called was a surprise, though one that Swandive was eager to take on. Dipping her head to her former mentor, the warrior turned toward the newly-named Lightningpaw. "Congratulations, Lightningpaw," She mewed, padding up to touch noses with the apprentice, "Get your nest set up in the apprentice den, we'll begin training in the morning."
