We Go! [C]

Rainpaw followed his mentor out onto the moor, narrowing his eyes against the relentless wind that buffeted his fur. He took a deep breath, taking in the sights and scents around him, and he had to admit, Windclan's territory was nothing short of exsquisite. He hadn't seen much beauty in his life, but this was just... breathtaking. The way the land touched the bright blue sky on the horizon, the sprigs of heather and pale brown grass swaying in the wind... He could get used to this.

He would have loved to spend the entire day sightseeing, but alas, training awaited. Rainpaw watched closely as his mentor demonstrated the hunting crouch, admiring her skill and poise. He wondered idly if he'd ever move as swiftly and silently through the tall grasses, then shook his head at the foolish thought. Of course he would be as good as her one day, and maybe even better. He had Windclan blood running through his veins, after all. He watched in amazement as Auburnrain effortlessly made her catch, momentarily forgetting that he'd been instructed to find some prey of his own.

He quickly turned around as his mentor lifted her head to glance at him, trying to look as if he'd been busy searching diligently for his prey instead of watching her like a dumbstruck- hare! He'd spotted the creature a short distance away, and immediately dropped into his best hunting crouch. He crept swiftly toward it, trying not to step on anything that might give him away while attempting to avoid looking down at his paws too much. Finally, he sprang forward from the bracken, racing after the hare and bringing it down with a snatch of his claws. Rainpaw nodded to himself, pride spreading through him. He'd done alright, if he did say so himself.

That'll do, Rainpaw. He thought to himself, humming happily whilst burying his catch so he could come back for it later. He was sure there'd be plenty more where that came from.
