Auburnpaw's Warrior Ceremony

As the sun set, the wind that usually swept through Windclan territory was starting to settle down. The last of the suns rays were filling the camp with warmth. Tigerstar had just jumped up on the Tall Rock, taking a brief moment to enjoy the sun before calling out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather beneath Tall Rock for a clan meeting!"

Auburnpaw had settled into her spot in camp, prepared to close her eyes after a long day... when Tigerstar's voice called for a clan meeting. She slumped and stared blankly ahead as annoyance flashed across her face. After a moment, she sighed and got to her feet. She dragged her paws across the ground and didn't bother hiding her annoyance. She was cranky and wanted nothing more than to turn in for the night. She sat down, her tail tip twitching, and waited for the meeting to begin.

The leader began to speak as soon as his clan gathered. He knew that some cats were going to want to to turn in for the day, so he would try and make this swift. "We are gathered to name another warrior. She has shown her dedication to the clan, and willingness to put those not in this clan in their place." Green eyes turned to the apprentice in question, giving her a slight glare to straighten up, at least for the time being. "Auburnpaw please come forward." The striped tom said, keeping stern eyes on her to make sure she at least behaved for the time being.

Auburnpaw blinked, hearing her name. She padded forward, a smile spreading across her face. Well well... someone finally woke up and realized how great she was. About time too. She went exactly to where Tigerstar had indicated with his eyes, and stared up at him expectantly... and maybe a bit smug. She couldn't help it.

Tigerstar sighed internally, he didn't care for Auburnpaw's attitude but it was better than her being grumpy like she was moments before he called her forward. Hopefully, eventually with time being a warrior she would mellow out, even if only slightly. "I, Tigerstar, leader of Windclan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained diligently to understand your ways and I commend her to you as a warrior in turn." The leader looked back to the apprentice, keeping stern eyes on her to make sure she behaved, just a little longer. "Auburnpaw, do you promise to uphold the code, defend and honor Windclan even at the cost of your life?"

She'd heard this shpeel so many times it was hard for her to not huff her impatience. She did manage to behave for now though. Once it was over, she'd take her vigil and then she was free to do as she pleased.

"I do." She answered, making sure everyone heard her. She didn't need anyone interfering or talking at her ceremony. She just might pull someone's eyes out if they did.

Tigerstar was thankful for her response, more so thankful that it was on the simple side, and didn't make a scene or anything. With her answer, the leader could continue. "By the powers of Starclan, I grant you your warrior name. Auburnpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Auburnrain. Windclan honors your ferocity and determination." With that, Tigerstar jumped down from his spot and placed his head on top of Auburnrain's. "I know you have it in you, make Windclan proud." He told her quietly before stepping back to let the rest of the clan get to the new warrior.
