Walk like a majestic lion, eyes glinting with so much desire.

Bubblenose basked in the light of dawn as it cut through the trees and illuminated the pelts of each cat on the early hunting patrol. She had to swallow down a yawn as she glanced back to make sure that every member was still close behind. The warrior hadn't had the opportunity to hunt so early in a while, and while she was grateful for the opportunity, it definitely had an effect on her sleep schedule. She turned her head once again to give the patrol a smile. "Let's split up. We can meet back here in a bit, okay?" She cheerfully suggested before heading off to find her own prey.

The air around RiverClan had been cloudy with sorrow lately, but Bubblenose knew that war was capable of stepping on any happiness that cats held in their hearts. She was just grateful that RiverClan had faced no casualties. She was unsure if it sounded self-centered to be grateful that she hadn't been chosen for the war patrol, but she was determined to succeed in her other duties to justify such selfishness. A small brown bird caught her attention not long after she had broken off from the rest of her patrol and she crouched low in order to keep the attention off of herself. Hopefully her first attempt at catching prey today would turn out to be a success. The bird, however, seemed to be quicker than her. It spread its feathered wings and took off the moment that her shadow landed on the little creature. Bubblenose huffed in slight frustration as the bird escaped into the morning sky and disappeared behind the tree branches.

Honestly, Dovetail didn't mind dawn patrols so much. He used to resent waking up early, especially when Pidge was the one delivering the un-gentle wake up call, but recently he'd begun to appreciate the stillness of the territory in the early mornings. Especially now that the sunlight appeared earlier than usual, and a tiny bit of warmth could soothe the bitter, stinging chill of the crisp leaf-bare air. When would it be newleaf? Stars, the shift in the weather would be so welcomed. In the meantime, due to the cold, Dovetail had been taking his pelt out on patrol with him. An extra layer between him and the biting wind was often needed, especially early in the morning like this.

He gave a nod to Bubblenose when she split away from the patrol, and turned to survey the nearby territory. The she-cat was easy company; she never required much of him, and he'd been fond of her ever since their outing as apprentices. Lately though, with all the exhausting happenings RiverClan had been through, he hadn't had much time to socialize with cats other than his siblings and Murkyriver. That ought to change. For now, though, he was on a hunting patrol... so he should hunt. A quick scent of the air and a squint into the growing sunlight, and he saw a frog resting by a muddy puddle of snowmelt. Frogs were more like ShadowClan prey, not too terribly common on RiverClan territory, but prey was prey and he felt his stomach growling already. Cautiously, Dovetail dropped into his unpracticed hunting crouch and stalked forward. Unfortunately, he failed to account for the new heaviness of his pelt around his shoulders--something he was not quite used to hunting with at the moment. He lurched forward a bit too quickly, and the frog wised to his actions and hopped quickly away. He frowned and turned back, only to see that Bubblenose was empty-pawed as well. He flicked an ear towards her in sympathy. "Bit of an unlucky morning, it seems."
