"You've been gone for some time, haven't you?" As they walked ShadowClan's marshy territory, Virtue had noted that the path under the thin layer of snow was still there, but littered with twigs and rocks. No one had been around to clear the way for many moons. "No worries! We'll help you get up and running by the time we set out again, as promised. Though the task of clearing pathways can wait: we've found our target." His silver tabby tail twitched in warning to get low to the ground as a dual-toned dog came into view, it's attention at an all-time low as his dug it's snout into the snow with loud huffs.
In a low whisper meant only for the three of them, he explained the process of Ankle Biter. "Remain within the shadows until their back is turned... Then strike with fangs at the softest part of any of their lower legs. Patience is a virtue, but acting quick is vital."

Silverhawk watched the tom leading them warily. Having the nomads sheltering with them left a sour taste in his mouth, but at least they were pulling their own weight. They helped to keep the Clan fed against the ebbs of leaf-bare, and they'd offered to pass on the skills a wandering life taught. Silverhawk sniffed at the idea that over-chivalrous rogues had anything to teach him, but he wouldn't pass up the opportunity while it lay in front of him. Ear flicking in acquiescence, he sank down until his belly fur brushed over the frosted mud. His attention drifted from Virtue to the dog they'd been led to, rooting around noisily. Silverhawk half-listened to Virtue's advice before he glanced at Leopardstar. When her muscles didn't twitch immediately into action, he swung his head forward again and took the initiative.
With its focus riveted on whatever scent stuck to the ground, the dog was easy to catch off-guard. Silverhawk rushed forward, fantastical conjurings of Redice gained strictly through kithood eavesdropping suddenly filling his mind. With a final fluid lunge he was close enough to clamp his jaw around the dog's heel, biting viciously at the thin skin, muscle, and tendon. Silverhawk gave his head a quick shake to solidify the howl of pained alarm he earned, then leapt quickly back to avoid the dog's panicked whirl.
Silverhawk used Ankle Biter, dealing 8 damage and costing 30 SP. Dog's damage is halved for 1 turn.

Leopardstar listened and watched intently as Virtue spoke, giving clear instructions on what to do and when to act, and as Silverhawk demonstrated it. "I think I understand," she nodded.
Her suspicion of ShadowClan's guests hadn't faded completely, but so far they'd offered her no reason to question their honesty; and she was leaving active doubt to Sablestrike for the moment. If nothing else, they were gaining valuable skills.
"Wait for the moment to strike, but never let it pass."
Leopardstar used Front Paw Strike + Desperate Blows, dealing 10+2 damage and costing 14 SP!

"Precisely." Virtue nodded in response to Leopardstar, his belly leaving the ground to to draw on the dogs attention once more. Briefly, his gaze met Silverhawk's as the tom bit into the dog's ankle and gave it a shake of confirmation that he had hit the right spot. "You will each get only one chance for this move; after this, the dog will know who to watch. So make it count, and make it hurt!" Setting up Leopardstar for her turn at the dogs ankles, Virtue leapt to Silverhawk's side and unleashed a one-two combo of flurried paws.
Virtue used Dirty Trick + Front Paw Strike dealing 17 damage and costing 14 SP.
Head reeled back, specks of cold snow spraying every which way as the dog stumbled to keep balance, howls of pain echoing throughout the icy marshland. The tuxedo would pay!
Dog used Heavy Blow, dealing halved damage of 9 and costing 22 SP.

The nod from Virtue sent a warm rush of pride blooming through Silverhawk's fur. Immediately, he felt disgusted with himself for letting some rogue bring him any sense of pride, but he quickly put his focus elsewhere. Hot blood was thick in his mouth, and Leopardstar and the nomad were descending on the fight. The dog was whirling around too, clearly furious at having its night so violently disturbed. Silverhawk tried to skip out of the way, but its flailing paws still connected with his ribs. It brought out a wheeze, though the blow was lessened by the dog's panic. Smirking, Silverhawk pushed out the last of his disturbed breaths before surging close again, digging his teeth into a higher, fleshier part of its leg and jerking fiercely.
Silverhawk used Snap, dealing 8 damage and costing 7 SP.

Leopardstar nodded slowly, and leapt swiftly into action as Silverhawk moved back. Attempting to capitalize on the dog's sure distraction, when its gaze would probably still be focused on the one who had just attacked. "Victory comes only when you ensure every strike counts. Or when fortune smiles upon you."
The latter condition wasn't often in ShadowClan's favor, and so its leader favored skill and strategy.
She dove for the dog's legs, sinking sharp teeth into tender flesh and hoping that her distraction was sufficient.
Leopardstar used Ankle Biter, dealing 8 (+2 from Star Striker) damage and costing 30 SP! Dog damage is halved for 2 turns!

There as a brief twinkle of what seemed to be pride in young warriors eye at the nod Virtue had given, though it didn't last long before it was replaced with disgust, teeth chomping down on the dog once more. Silverhawk was... A strange individual.
A dash of spots was seen in Virute's peripherals followed by more howls of pain from their prey. "Ah, but fortune is a fickle one." As he saw it, luck was on their side in this fight.
Virute used Upright Lock on Dog, dealing 12 damage and costing 10 SP.
Another from the shadows! It wanted to run. Run far far away, but its legs ached! Burned! Ow!
Dog used Heavy Blow on Leopardstar, dealing 4 damage and costing 22 SP.
