By the time they had settled back into their old camp, had gotten dens fixed as best as they could for the night, Echosong brought out what herbs they had left, and what he had spent hours looking for. The lambs ear was still strange to him and the garlic was slightly harder to find but he had found what he needed. “If anyone is…if anyone is needed help getting back on your paws..come see me or Fawnshine.” he called out, his tail swishing behind him in the snow as he glanced at his aunt with a grin. He was so glad to finally be able to start healing everyone, and it seemed like the entire clan was out hunting for herbs with them.
He sat and waited, humming a tune, hoping those who needed a little extra healing would come reach out to him. As his song weaved through the camp, he saw a few pelts emerge from their dens and come towards him.

She'd staved herself off long enough from seeking the help of those who had tried. Fawnshine had managed to shove enough herbs down her throat (at her own insistence) to stave off the majority of the symptoms, but there were still enough that lingered and were leeching her energy. Given the tensions that hung in the air, it was long enough. The tortoiseshell had almost hoped that she would lose another life to simply be able to shake it off, but it seemed that the long-furred tom was rather adamant that she deliver justice before she'd dare come meet him again.
Making her way over, Mottlestar had no qualms with waiting her turn amidst her clanmates. Even as a few insisted she go first, the tortoiseshell was more stubborn, making sure that they were aided. But once it was time, she simply greeted her medicine cat with a friendly head-tilt. "I suppose I've suffered long enough with this dastardly illness I can't keep making the excuse of herb rations... can I?" She jested, even if it was simply her attempt at providing some humor to an otherwise unfortunate situation.

Echosong's soft-spoken call caught Nightdancer's attention. She'd put up with the cough that had plagued her since arriving at the lake because she knew she was better off than some of her Clanmates, and she'd managed alright with the journey back to the forest, but she had no desire to live with the constant cough for the rest of her life.
So she rose to her paws and approached the medicine den as well, with a put-upon sigh. "I've been dealing with a minor ailment for a while now," she admitted, another short-lived coughing fit serving to demonstrate her words. "But with everything... Well, other things were certainly more pressing in the moment. I could deal with a seemingly endless cough for ThunderClan's sake. That's not so much a problem now, is it?"
we know how to dare, we know how to dream —— info.
Echosong could feel the tension within the past few days, he had been gathering herbs like a mad man, on one paw to heal his clanmates, and on the other to prepare for the inevitable injuries of war. The tom was very anti-war, his mother had always promoted peace, though in recent moons the amiable medicine cat had been quite ready for battle. The more he thought about it, the more the tom couldn't shake the feeling that Skyclan had indeed pushed ThunderClan too far, and a response was not only warranted but necessary to ensure thier clan's safety and honor. Justice, however it may manifest, must indeed be served. The scales were tipped in favor of confrontation and Echosong was prepared, he had hardened his heart against the possibility of losing one of his dear clanmates. He had all of the necessary trainings and herbs needed. The only thing left was to heal the last few sickies they had. Mottlestar and Nightdancer being two of them.
His blue eyes met Mottlestar's and there was a fire in them that hadn't been there before, he had half the mind to bop his beloved leader on the head for not coming to him and his aunt sooner. Mottlestar was too selfless for her own good.
With a gentle smile, Echosong huffed in response and put together a small bundle for her, In times of sickness, the well-being of our clan mates, especially our esteemed leader, takes precedence above all else, silly Mottlestar.
"We need you at your strongest, yes?" he meowed softly mirroring her head tilt. As a moment of silence fell over them as she ate the herbs, the tom narrowed his eyes and leaned in a hair, "We'll make them pay Mottlestar. For they life they took, for thinking they can walk on us...claws and fangs, claws and fangs." he echoed, his words unknowingly mimicking their Starclan guides. Echosong blinked, nodded once to Mottlestar and turned to his next patient.
Another selfless Thunderclanner, the tom gave her a sharp look and shook his head, "Every ailment deserves our care, regardless of it's perceived urgency, yes?" he questioned, daring the she-cat to tell him otherwise. But he gave her the same annoyed but love filled huff he gave Mottlestar and prepared her herbs that would heal her of the cough. "At least you came to us now." he mused, giving her some credit.
It was sad to admit it, but all the herbs in the forest hadn't seemed to be able to cure Wiggleworm of the illness that still raged within him. Though it had saved his life back when the wolves attacked, he was tired of being the cat everyone looked at with pity. And now, that his injuries had begun to heal and he wasn't completely nestbound, it seemed about time to give treatment a shot. The wounds that stretched across his back burned with protest, but he ignored it and stood anyway at Echosong's tempting offer to help.
Slipping out of the medicine den, Wiggleworm slowly made his way to the medicine cat, his lungs burning with the effort. If had been some time since he had last even attempted such a long walk. It was pathetic, really, when he thought about it. The persistence of the disease was likely his fault anyway, since he'd stubbornly refused treatment back at the lake for so long. Other cats needed it more, he would tell himself. Look where that had gotten him.
With a low grunt, Wiggleworm slid to the ground, his dark eyes tired. From nearby, he could see Echosong dividing up herbs for both Nightdancer and Mottlestar and his pelt grew warmer. He would likely recieve the same chiding from the medicine cat for not asking for help sooner. Though, to be fair, he'd been far too injured and feverish to even string together coherent sentences. Once the tom finished with Mottlestar, Wiggleworm called out to him. "Echosong?"

Fawn shine
And did the twin flame bruise paint you blue?
"So you were never a saint and I've loved in shades of wrong. We learn to live with the pain, mosaic broken hearts."
The last of duties seemingly enslaved to her and Echosong was curing the lingering disease that hadn't seemed to fully die down amidst their clan just yet. A troublesome, but urgent emergency—for the sake of Mottlestar's well-being as well as every one of their own. She bore the mildest symptoms there were - forgetting to cure herself of the illness; but others came in priority. She could bother with her own struggles later, where no eyes remained to be left for judgment.
Nodding to Mottlestar and Nightdancer in greeting, Fawnshine turned around to nod as Echosong offered two herb bundles for each of them. "I sincerely apologize, Mottlestar. It's my carelessness that led to such a long delay in healing all of our clan - and especially you from the disease. We haven't had full preparation then, when we were away—but now that we're back in camp, I'll make sure to handle it better."
Turning to Wiggleworm, she gave a polite smile. "He's currently a bit preoccupied. May I help tend to you instead?" Offering a bundle of herbs carefully chosen out for just the perfect remedy - she encouraged the warrior to swallow it down. "This should work now." She nodded.

Comfreyheart
Comfreyheart sat patiently near the two medicine cats while quietly watching them with pride as they healed. She always knew they’d be able to find a cure between the two of them and their wonderous minds, but getting to see their efforts come to fruition was pleasing. And finally, her clan would be rid of this terrible sickness. The warrior herself was more than ready to get back to her duties. Yes, she still had a few kits in the nursery, but shaking off this flu was the closest step she could take to readying herself for patrols. Among... other things.
"Mama.." he meowed softly turning to Comfreyheart as Fawnshine assisted Wiggleworm. The medicine cat gathered one of the bundles they had prepared and pushed it towards her, bumping her shoulder with his head affectionately, "This should fix the sickness, yes yes!"

Comfreyheart
“Amazing,” she purred as she nuzzled against his forehead. “Thank you my little thundercloud.” She bowed forth to swallow her share of herbs. So many different tastes in one bitter bundle, but such a small price for the power it held.
Comfreyheart stole a glance towards her sister only to be washed with a wave of sadness. Something weighed heavy on both of their minds, not just the upcoming war which carried potential loss, but instead the loss they had already experienced just this moon. Darkspirit and Dayquill… It hurt to think about, yet it wasn’t anything she could ever ignore. Her brothers whom she had come to love and cherish deeply- despite the awful way one of them turned out to be. Comfreyheart gave Fawnshine a slow blink, letting her sister know she wished to talk to her about this soon.

Crocusfrost padded up almost shyly, uncertain as she approached Fawnshine, her eyes falling on her brother and the young warrior immediately taking his side. "If you are in good supply, I would appreciate some help." She meowed not unkindly.

He'd been delaying this for far too long now. At some point, he needed to heal himself and get to better conditions, too; if not for the sake of himself, then for his family, his clanmates, and his friends. War was upcoming, and yet... He barely had time to prepare for it yet. He'd been too busy sick. Perking up as Fawnshine approached him, Thrushnose nodded in deep appreciation, offering the medicine cat a small smile of gratitude. "Thank you."
(ooc: using this template bc the other is glitching for some reason.)
Fawnshine
Fawnshine watched with affection and pride as her sister got fed the cure, warm eyes peering under flickering sunlight dimmed by the medicine den to greet the upcoming cats. All so resilient and brave in each of their ways, she knew. Even if hope came wary as an upcoming war raged, ThunderClan would not be diminished.
"You're welcome. Get plenty of rest." She nodded towards Thrushnose before turning to Crocusfrost with a recognizing, warm smile. "Of course—you're always welcome. Here, eat slowly." Gently, she pushed a bundle of herbs towards the warrior. Once more warriors had been handed the herbs, Fawnshine tried to stifle a slight cough but to no avail. Ultimately, she fed herself the cure—no need to risk endangering more of their clanmates.

The best way he could describe how this sickness made him feel was this: he somehow was both stuck in, and was a patch of sticky, stinky, and deep swamp mud. Moving took so much more effort and he could hardly breathe or speak what with all the gunk. Not to mention how he must look. He hadn’t seen his own reflection in a while to know for sure. His eyes were really, really gross and crusty though. He’d already cleaned them so many times, but after every nap the crust returned with a vengeance. In fact, it was so bad that only the strong scent of herbs told him he was talking to a medicine cat, but not whether it was Echosong or Fawnshine. “I need some too,” Redsun managed to say, his voice more like a croaking toad than his usual boisterous tone. “I’m strong but I don’t have a rea –COUGH BLECK COUGH COUGH-" Great timing there. He stopped and waited for the strangeness in his throat to clear a bit before continuing, “I don’t have a reason to hold back anymore if you’ve got a good amount.” Wow, that coughing fit made him feel light-headed. Way to undercut himself after trying to be lighthearted, too.
