Ravenkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats safe from the bramble's thorns gather for a Clan meeting!" Acornstem smiled softly as she let her voice ring out across the camp clearing - things were truly looking up. Even with leaf-bare upon them, they still had prey and the illness was finally losing its grip on the Clans thanks to the hard-work of the medicine cats. While there was a deep desire to return home, she didn't dare dream of leaving until after the season turned warmer. It did hurt in some sense, naming apprentices here - knowing that they had no memories of their home but... She couldn't imagine what would cause them to return until the path was safer.

Ravenkit was shoulder-deep in a pile of snow when she heard the summons. A tree had been so kind as to dump its load of snow right outside the nursery, providing an excellent place to dig, which Ravenkit had been all too happy to do. But at Acornstem's voice, curiosity got the better of her, and she wrenched backwards, pulling her head and shoulders out of the tunnel she'd been digging.

The rest of the clan had started to gather so Ravenkit found somewhere near the middle to sit, trying to look like she belonged there.

Acornstem couldn't help but smile at the sight of Ravenkit backing out of a snow pile to join the ceremony. It had been a long time since the deputy had gotten the chance to play in the snow - perhaps she would find a time to take a break from  her duties to romp around with the kits and apprentices...And any warriors who felt like living their kithoods once again. But that wasn't something to focus on at the moment as she shook her head, straightening up as she curled her tail around her, lifting up her paws to gently place on them to keep her pads warm.

"I've called you all here to witness a new kit enter the apprentice's den! Ravenkit, please step forward" she called out with a purr. "You have reached the age of six moons and are fit to be named an apprentice. From this moment on, you will be known as Ravenpaw - your mentor will be Mottlestar," she meowed, glancing over to where the leader sat. The leader had been cooped up in the camp for so long due to her illness - she could only hope that an apprentice would help her get into back into the swing of things so they could care for ThunderClan together.
