| This place is pretty dead... By which I mean, there's nothing to kill.
Ajex was still sour about the fact that Rose had lied about her real name. Was he really that so ugly that she would want to minimize contact with him? He had starred at his reflection in puddles of water and tried cleaning his appearance a little. Was it the little tuffs of fur on the top of his hair? Did she think it was too messy? Or was it his scars? He personally loved his scares; they were trophies of his victory, but if Rose didn't think they were nice, would Alethea think the same?
Well, anyway, he probably shouldn't take Rose's actions to heart. Maybe the Kittypets had been gossiping again, and Rose just happened to hear the wrong rumors. What a hassle. Now he just had to fix their relationship. Ajex was about to go hunting when he was struck by the brilliant idea of inviting Rose.
"Hey!" He called out, popping out from behind the she-cat when she exited her den. Ajex was grinning like an excitable child, head tipped to the side as he watched Rose. "Want to go hunting with me?" He asked, conveniently leaving out the fact that it would not be prey that they were hunting.

| Rose wasn’t quite sure where she stood here.
She slept at the old rogue camp on occasion, true, but just as often she’d curl up in an old hollow or abandoned predator den. The other cats seemed to view her as part of their group, and she did contribute to the prey pile, but… she didn’t know. Some of them rubbed her the wrong way.
Including Ajex, who had just called her name. Rose jumped, whirling around, eyes wide, only to find him grinning at her like- like some sort of psycho. She let out a long breath, fur slowly laying flat once more, and only then did his words register. Go hunting? Was this all some convoluted plot to murder her? Surely not… but she didn’t have much of a choice, did she, and he’d let her go last time…
“I- alright,” she responded, voice still shaken. What a way to start the day. |
