Natural Healing (closed)

A large sigh escaped the fluffy molly as she finished sorting the herb stores in their new camp. It had taken a while to get everything placed on her own now that Ia- right... Iakona hadn't returned. Alethea had sent the young tom off in search of rarer herbs they hadn't yet replenished, but he had never found his way back. She had been worried about what the tom had gotten himself into, but that was just Iakona. He had made a habit of getting himself lost only to show up a moon or more later. No matter how many times he loosed himself to the wilds it frightened Alethea, but there was nothing she could do for him now. All she could do was wait. And wait... And wait... In an empty, strong-scented den.

Alethea wasn't fond of waiting around however, so she in turn loosed herself among the tiny family that they had cultivated. A few pelts passed her eye, familiar in that they had been present since she was a tiny kit still mewling for help, but there was always one that snapped Alethea from any sour moods. "Forest!" The molly cried out as she approached the rough looking tom. A smile instantly etched itself onto Alethea's mouth as she greeted Forest with a wave of her tail. "I've got all the herbs settled, is there anything else you need me to do?"

Usually, Forest was a gruff, rough around the edges tom. He wasn't one to be overly happy, a lifetime ago he lived near the docks and the sea and the many ships and hustle and bustle that life came with.

He learned a lot from the twolegs there and adopted some of their traditions too. More recently, his journeys had taken him to the forest more after his namesake.

Most recently, his mood was actually greatly improved and in good spirits for his standards that is. He glanced over at the kit he had taken in. He was by no means a very regular or normal parent. He wasn't one who was very good at the whole affectionate thing that he heard other parents did. Nor was he good at always being around for her, but he kept her alive when she was young.

He was not quite sure how she ended up so sweet when raised the way she was and with the company they usually kept near. But, it was who she was and he was accepting of that. Even if the rest of his parenting skills deserved an F grade wise he was always accepting of who she was and that was perhaps his one small redeeming parenting 'skill' if you could call it that.

She made a great herb specialist and had gotten pretty good at the whole plant thing despite not having any formal training. A little bit of him wished he had enough trinkets and treasures that he coulda paid to find someone to train Alethea her passion.

As she informed him that all the herbs were ready he gave a short grunt of general approval. "Not bad kiddo, not at the moment .. no but soon we are going by the twoleg nest and scam the treats, give nature time to repopulate the prey and all he mentioned with a yawn.


The absense of the clan cats had been celebrated by him a lot and he had never been in this pleasant of a mood.
"and... you are doing acceptable enough? he asked.... not the most sensitive or best way to ask the question by any means but he was semi-trying...He was pretty sure thats what parents were supposed to ask, not that he knew since he had been on his own long as he could remember. It was only due to the incredibly good fortune of the clan kitties being gone that he was even in this good enough mood to ask how she was doing. This basically never happened before now.
