Molepaw's Warrior Ceremony

It was hard to come.to terms with the fact he would have to run the clan for right now. Hard to come with the fact that Windclan was his. He wasn't sure how he should feel about.. well everything but for right now he could put it out of his mind. For now he needed to name a warrior. "Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather near me for a clan meeting!"

Perking his ears at the deputy's call, Molepaw padded towards the sound of the ginger tabby's voice. Sitting near the edge of the crowd and not wanting to be in the way of other cats view, the fuzzy apprentice plopped himself down. Squinting his eyes ever so slightly, it took a few moments for his vision to focus before he was sure that he was looking towards the right cat, and once he knew he relaxed his demeaner. With his amber gaze curiously fixed on the tom ahead of them all, he awaited the deputy's next words and wondered what this meeting was about.

Sootstorm sat down near the edge of the crowd, a proud smile on his face despite the recent events. He had meant to speak with Smallstar about Molepaw's ceremony, but with the leader gone he could only inform Tigerdance instead. No matter, this day was a day of celebration, something they seemed to lack since they left the moors. No matter how many of his apprentices were named their full warrior name, Sootstorm still felt as excited and proud as his first.

This was his first time ever doing a warrior ceremony, so he prayed to the stars that he was doing it right. It seemed like forever ago that he had last seen a warrior ceremony but he knew it was just all of the events Windclan was going through at the moment. "Molepaw, please come forward." He knew that Molepaw was going to be a good warrior, after all it was Sootstorm that trained the tom. "Molepaw, do you promise to defend, and honor Windclan even at the cost of your life?" He asked the question, the words feeling strange on his tongue considering he never spoke them before.

Turning to Daisypaw, he pressed his pelt against her's as he noticed the grey and white molly shivering and gave her a soft bump on the head with his own. "I won't, I promise," Molepaw mewed to his sister while simultaneously praying to StarClan that his smile masked his own worry for her. She was so caring for her family and clan and what was he able to offer her? A hole in the ground? Some grub? How pitiful. But even so, he supposed that him not being ill right now was a sign from the stars above that he was meant to be of some use to his clan, as scary as that was.

With his family and friends gathered around him for this somewhat unexpected occasion, considering the current state of WindClan, Molepaw couldn't help but be filled with a sense of happiness as Tigerdance began to speak. Today was his warrior ceremony. He wasn't sure how he'd gotten this far, but he knew he had Sootstorm to thank for that. "I do," the round tom mewed to the deputy, in his usual soft voiced tone.

Watching as Tigerdance spoke to the clan and mentioning his son's name, Fuzzface purred in delight as he sat beside his mate. He wasn't one to show much care towards others, but when it came to him family he couldn't have been more proud.

Tigerdance nodded, appreciating the tom's response. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I grant you your warrior name. From this moment on you will be known as Molehill, honoring your strong foundation of loyalty, and rolling sensitivity. Congratulations." The striped tom said, hoping the tom was proud of his name. Following what he remembered from Smallstar's ceremonies, the striped tom stepped forward and pressed his nose to the new warriors head before stepping back fully. Letting the crowd cheer and congratulate their new warrior.

It was strange doing a warrior ceremony, especially when he was so used to seeing others perform them, but it wasn't an unwelcome experience. The difference he wished for at this point in time was to be back at home doing this, where the clan could truly be whole.

Sootstorm was one of the first to shout out his apprentice's new name. He was hit with a pang of grief that he could never do the same for his son and apprentice, Dustpaw, but it was replaced with joy much faster than it would have just a few moons ago. He gave Tigerdance a grateful smile, then padded up to gently nuzzle the round tom's cheek. "Good job," he whispered proudly, then stepped back to allow Molepaw's family to congradulate him.

Molehill... what a wonderful name he'd be given! It really encompassed his love for the earth and digging, and he found himself more than content with the name that Tigerdance had given him. With a soft smile on his maw, the newly named warrior bumped his head softly against the deputy's before turning to his clanmates. He wasn't used to this much attention and part of him wanted to disappear into a burrow, but at the same time he couldn't help but feel a sense of happiness at the amount of praise he was getting from his family and clanmates. Perhaps he would make a decent warrior someday.

"Thank you," the plump warrior mewed to his former mentor, thankful for all the tom had done for him.

"Ya did it," Fuzzface mewed to the newly named Molehill. Unable to be bothered to move, the round tom sat sat where he was and began chanting his son's name with the rest of the clan.
