Though they were beginning their journey, the flow of time would not stop its continuation, and there were more ceremonies for Perchstar to complete. So once they reached a stopping point, she found the highest outcropping of hill that she could, and called out a somewhat nontraditional summons. "RiverClan, gather for a Clan meeting."
Scorchpaw looked up the hill, hesitating before stretching her legs and bouncing up the hill. She dipped her head in respect to Perchstar. The wind twisted, ruffled, and flattened her fur. She felt the soft breeze ice her face, though she was used to it with the long walk in the unfamiliar territory. She smiled at Perchstar, her eyes wide but still held the emerald green glint it would always hold. She remembered not long ago, Perchstar had taken her to the moonstone. Perchstar was calm and respectful of Scorchpaw. While many cats called Scorch dumb and annoying, she took it lightly and she knew she was dumb and annoying. That was what she wanted anyway, but it was just the energy coursing through Scorch’s veins that made her do this. But she had learned to respect cats, and she held great respect for Perchstar.
Perchstar waited until she caught sight of Scorchpaw in the crowd. "We gather today to make an apprentice into a warrior. Scorchpaw, please step forward." The apprentice had to know that her ceremony was upcoming, since she'd gone on her Moonstone journey before they started leaving the territories. Focus on the here and now, Perchstar told herself, forcing her mind away from the hunger and thirst and loss of her home. Ceremonies were always a moment of celebration. “I, Perchstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Scorchpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?” The question was, as always, an important one. Perchstar's eyes were serious as they looked at Scorchpaw, hoping that she understood the gravity of the vow she would be making. Though they were temporarily leaving their home, the Clan was still here.
"...‐paw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”
Distantly catching the sound of the ceremony, a particularly small tortoiseshell set of ears perked. All of the clans had a fair share of conducting ceremonies thus far on their journey, and it seemed Riverclan would be no exception. Having finished her own rounds when it came to ensuring the safety of her Clan, it left her free. Well, as free as one could be while being a figurehead one looked towards. Still, it meant she could show her support. Riverclan was one of her closest allies, after all. So she moved towards the edge of the crowd, her gaze moving to Perchstar to tip in greeting. Should there be any sign of her unwelcome, the Thunderclan leader would instead simply keep moving by. However, for the time being, she sat. Surveyed for the apprentice in question, who would be earning their full name under circumstances that even Mottlestar continued to wish would not have had to occur.

"I do!" She didn't even hesitate before meowing this. Finally, she'd become a warrior. She remembered the days when she was a kit, so carefree. But now, she was a warrior. She flicked her tail up and down, waiting to hear her warrior name. It was such an honor to her, being a part of RiverClan. She'd been a part of it for so long, and now she'd carry on the duties of a warrior. She was a true warrior. Her heart leapt with joy, the feelings tingling her fur were indescribable. It was a warm, happy, eager feeling, and her eyes sparkled.

Perchstar nodded in approval. Out of the corner of her eye, she thought she spotted a familiar tortoiseshell pelt joining the normal crowd of her Clanmates. Right--this wasn't in their camp; technically anyone could show up. It felt somehow very comforting to see her friend among the other cats. But the leader focused once more on the apprentice in question. “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Scorchpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Scorchlight. StarClan honors your energy and dedication, and we welcome you as a full warrior of RiverClan.” To complete the ceremony, Perchstar leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of Scorchlight's head for a moment. Then she stepped back so that the newly named warrior could receive the necessary congratulations. Her eyes stole over toward Mottlestar, blinking in a gesture of welcome and almost inquisitiveness.

Sprucebark hurried over to join the clan meeting and watched as Perchstar began the familiar words of a warrior getting their name. He flicked his tail purring hearing it was Scorchlight now! He had gotten to know the apprentice well and she was so full of energy and optimistic cheer that she brought with her. She had helped him survive predator attack after predator attack in a hunting mission gone wrong before they had left their home and so seeing her get her warrior name now made him very happy and excited for her.
The usually serious and not easily excited sprucebark was jumping up and down however now by the end of this ceremony and he rushed to his newest warrior clanmates side.
"Scorchlight! congratulations you! he purred happily
