Quailpaw's Moonstone Journey

The journey was soon. Very soon. With Fawnshine and Echosong in the thick of preparing herbs for their travels, she hadn't wanted to bother them with an apprentice who could be given their full name just before. As such, she took it upon herself. She had the strength to travel, after all.

"Quailpaw, it's time for your moonstone." Mottlestar called to her apprentice. Nudging the herbs her way, she dipped her head. "Eat up, and we'll be on our way."

Quailpaw gathered around Mottlestar. She had used her fair share of herbs in her life, which she still felt bad for... but this was her Moonstone. Lapping it up, she looked to her Mentor with admiration and expectancy. "I'm ready when you are." She was massive next to her own leader, but it was the feral blood, really.

Even with her apprentice towering over her, there was no fear as Mottlestar then gave a nod. Little hesitance or words flowed between the two of them as they were off on their journey. Quailpaw's sheer strength in her size certainly was of her benefit: it made travelling easier. "All of the Clans will be meeting here very soon, remember the way if you can to help guide your clanmates."

Not much longer, they found themselves at Highstones. "Keep close to me, it gets dark. You may feel the tunnels on your sides, but don't worry-they won't bite." A motherly hum flowed alongside her words as she stepped into Mothermouth. It was a place she knew they would all be gathering again soon... for better or for worse. Tired as she was, once they were at the stone, Mottlestar sat and gave a nod. "Press your nose to the stone, and Starclan will be there for you the moment you wake."

Quailpaw surged with pride as she walked next to Mottlestar. Guide her clanmates... She'd take on that mantle and she made careful note of the way.Soon, Mottlestar was leading her into the dark and the large stone stood in front t of her. Taking in a breath, she confronted her question of if StarClan really existed. Guess she'll find out. With a soft scraping of her Claes on stone, Quailpaw settled down and touched her nose.

There to greet Quailpaw would be the forest as it should have been: Lush, vibrant, strong. Not long after would appear a strong cat in her own right. One who walked with regality, but of ancient knowledge of one who had been there for moons. "Greetings, soldier. I am Coldheart, a long-gone deputy of Skyclan. The stars see a strong warrior in you: and I am here to judge that." Every part of her commanded the respect of her position. It was quite the contrast to the small tortoiseshell who led the helm of Thunderclan: tiny, caring. But it was a face that would be able to impart great wisdom. A commander had seen many battles, and it was up to her to teach the future just what that meant. "Your strength can be quite the asset for your clanmates. But also know that it can hinder you. They may fear you for your might, or watch you in awe. There's the makings of a leader beneath your pelt- hone that to your advantage. Work with that strength, but understand when one may need the nurturing touch. It runs in your blood, after all. It is all in a good balance."

Quailpaw was met with an almost unrecognizable forest and an even more unrecognizable cat. But the cat in front of her declared authority, and it was a declaration Quailpaw headed. Mostly, she was shocked that StarClan did exist. Dipping her head in respect, Quailpaw nodded. "Hpw is one motherly without children?" Quailpaw didn't even have many friends, much less a love interest.
