Daily Duties[Open Hunting Patrol]

Flysnap followed behind his fellow clanmates, tail flickin idly as he scented the air around them. Prey was much harder to find recently, and it showed clearly in the way the tabby's ribs showed through his fur, but the tom's eyes were as bright as ever. A familiar scent of squirrel drifted up to him, and instantly the tom got into a crouch and tried to locate it. It was a scrawny thing, skinnier then even himself, but at least it was food, right? Eyes narrowed, he pounced forward, but the weakness of his limbs were not accounted for. He landed just a whisker before the squirrel, which scurried off in a heartbeat. Mouse dung!

Perhaps it was better that Redsun was a small tom. At the very least he required less food than the others, especially the children of the odd wild cats - they were already quite large and they didn't even have the muscle mass of warriors yet. Perhaps being big wasn't all it was cracked up to be. The ginger tom shivered despite himself as he padded by Flysnap on their patrol, his starved nose scenting for any trace of prey. Oftentimes it would be but a phantom smell. Wishful thinking. A shuffle of leaves near the base of a chestnut tree caught his attention and before his brain recognized what it was, instinct launched him towards it. A bolt of confusion almost caused him to lose whatever it was beneath his paws, but he eventually fumbled a way to kill it. Pulling it by its thin tail, he discovered it was a mouse! "Yes!" His cheer came at a whisper. Relief was evident on his face.
