| For the first time in moons, Smallstar would be naming a new warrior. It was fear rather than hope that welled within him as he stood upon the the Tallrock that afternoon, however. Perhaps it was the aching in his ilimbs, or the pangs of hunger, but he worried Finchpaw woudl end up just another warrior going hungry this Leaf-bare. The state of prey this season was worrying him, and he worried the way it may effect his clanmates.
Nevertheless, he recognized the work Finchpaw had done to get here, and she deserved a name at least. So, he cleared his throat and made the call. | Finchpaw strutted out of the apprentice den at Smallstar's call, fur gleaming as always and tail curled over her back. The last of the flowers adorned the she-cat's pelt, carefully tucked into the fur at just the right angle so that they flashed like a bird's feathers whenever she moved. There was no doubt that this would be her warrior ceremony. No other apprentice was even close to earning their warrior names, not even her own littermates, some of which were still stuck in the nursery. No kit's ceremony would earn Smallstar's attention like this, so surely it had to be her's? The she-cat settled down in clear view of the rest of the Clan, waiting with a smug smile for her leader to continue. ______________________________________ - Requirements:

Just as he had done for Nectarflower's warrior ceremony, Sootstorm had made sure to have a word with Smallstar when he felt his apprentice to be ready for their warrior name. Sure, Finchpaw still had a long way to go, and her ego would get her no where, but he couldn't deny that in terms of skills she had learnt what was demanded of her. She was always bright for her age. Perhaps if she had not been as talented, she would have a more open mind about others around her. Sootstorm sighed, and took his seat among his Clan. His gaze flickered to the nursery, wondering if Nectarflower would be here.

| Finchpaw appeared, her gleaming pelt easily standing out against the other apprentices - Smallstar was more familiar with Finchpaw than the others. The leader felt no need to signal to the apprentice, for the flowers that poked from under her fur indicated that she already knew why he was calling. So, he beckoned her. "Finchpaw, pelase step forward." A moment passed. "Do you pledge to honor and defend WindClan? | Smallstar nodded in confirmation. "Then, under StarClan's watchful eyes..." The tom couldn't help but glance skywards, silently questioning if their ancestors were really watching. "I grant you your warrior name. From now on, you will be known as Finchspeckle. Continue to protect your clan, and your clan will protect you in turn." And thus, the ceremony was concluded, and Smallstar left the Tallrock to congratulate Windclan's newest warrior. He hoped that Finchspeckle would find warriorhood as exciting as apprenticeship had at first been, but he felt that it would be out of his hands. | Finchspeckle. A beautiful name, far more pretty than her mother's, or so the warrior would think. The dappled she-cat felt her heart sing as her new name was echoed by her clanmates. Finchspeckle! The first kit from her litter to earn her warrior name, and the first warrior in WindClan to receive their warrior name in moons. If it wasn't for the hunger that lingered in her belly, she'd think that it was the ideal life. ______________________________________ - Requirements:

Nectarflower made her way to the center of the camp at Smallstar's call, her eyes landing almost instinctively on Sootstorm. With a warm smile, she approached her former mentor and friend, taking a seat beside him with a quiet greeting. Just as she opened her jaws to ask what the meeting could be about, Smallstar continued. Her daughter's name left his mouth and Nectarflower could very nearly feel her heart bursting with joy. A warrior ceremony! It had been moons since they'd named a new warrior - and for it to be her own daughter! A purr rumbled in the warrior's chest, threatening to escape.
Paws kneading the ground, Nectarflower watched the ceremony with bated breath, breaking focus only once to nudge Sootstorm playfully as if to say 'how could you not tell me!?' No matter though, all that mattered now was her daughter. The moment the ceremony came to a close, the tortoiseshell she-cat was on her paws. "Finchspeckle, Finchspeckle, Finchspeckle!" It seemed as though Finchspeckle had just been a kit, tiny and helpless, but here she was now - a fully grown warrior!
Racing over on light paws, Nectarflower rubbed her cheek against Finchspeckle's, her chest warm. "Congratulations, Finchspeckle!" She meowed, liking the way her daughter's new name sounded. "We should celebrate! What would you like to do?" It had been a little while since she had last been able to spend time with Finchspeckle, but that was about to change! Stars! This was so exciting!

"Finchspeckle! Finchspeckle!" Sootstorm called out along with his clanmates. Nectarflower's delight at her daughter's new name was enough to bring a smile to the tom's face. He wondered if there would ever come a day where he too could call out his kits' warrior names, but with so many of them already lost he didn't dare to hope. Nectarflower deserved this joy of watching her child grow. Sootstorm stayed back to this ceremony, giving the two she-cats space to celebrate.
